To all you Northern Kentuckians: With Boone losing badly to Henry Clay, who is the best 6A team in your area?

 

Believe it or not, they were it. Sounds like the coaching staff got their lunch handed to them a little to me. BC is a better team then that. I'm sure Coach Thompson will right the ship. He's a good coach and a quality man.

:lol: How can a team that consistently calls a 1/1 ratio between pass and run abandon it's passing game so quickly when things go bad? I know Deucette is their best receiver, but they do have two other receivers besides Farris who can catch the ball.

Oh, well not my problem and not the right thread for that one.

On two consecutive possession in the 4th quarter Ryle's first (or maybe second) pass attempt of that possession resulted in a Dixie interception. Dixie then proceeded to keep the ball on the ground eating up the clock and eventually scoring. The end result was that Ryle ran very few plays run or pass in the entire 4th quarter. For the entire 1st half and most of the 3rd quarter the game was close so Ryle probably didn't feel the need to pass.

I agree with what was already stated, Boone is the best 6A team in NKY and we all know now NKY 6A football is mediocre this year.

Ryle must have decided to be bi-polar again.

 

You know when they win they look tough as nails and when they lose boy they don't mess around.

 

Guess the OT loss is still in their head.

Which didn't work too well. I thought they would've at least thrown a few passes to 18. He's a good head taller than any DB out there.

 

The week before in the BC game they did. Number 25 was awesome (his name escapes me right now). They have a nice passing attack IMO. Dixie however was prepared for every facet of their game and that Sorrel was spot on with his defensive signals.

But it was tied at halftime. Makes it even more confusing or frustrating depending on your allegiences.

It looked good against Boone because Boone only played man to man. Ryle knowing Boone would do this went twins to the TE side, the twin receivers would run streaks vacating the flats for the TE. Boone's LB was in a catch 22 step hard for the run or sit and read the TE. He kept choosing to step hard for the run leaving the TE open often. The Boone coach's, I do not recall changing to zone to take it away.

I am guessing that Dixie played more zone to stop that play.

Knock on wood..... but I honestly think that for the last three weeks they have been getting better and better. Their almost where I thought we would be before the bye week.:lol:

I think that they just tell him to run up and down the field until he gets tired. It is a real shame.

Great, great game by Dixie. The boys played the best ball I've seen all year. A couple key fumbles by Ryle helped Dixie in the 1st half. Ryle was able to run the ball one some of their first half drives as they had the edge on the line. In the second half, it was ALL Colonels. The offensive line was amazing. They were blowing the Ryle d-line 5 yards off the line every play. The o-line gave Marty 5 yards every run, and then he gained 10+ by making the backers miss. Everything was between the tackles too, nothing on the edge. He ended up with over 170 yards rushing, 4 rushing TDs, and 1 TD reception. Bricking had one of his best games of the year too. He was spreading the ball around, and not staring down his receivers. He looked very good tonight. Detmer was, well, Detmer. He made a great diving catch at the goaline and a very nice punt return. Defensively, the d-line dominated the line in the second half, and by the offense taking the lead, it forced Ryle to throw, which lead to a couple INTs. It's the best game I've seen from Dixie this year (missed the CCH game), and I came away very impressed. This game was truly won in the trenches, but it was a GREAT game by all. Congrats to all the Dixie boys!!! :thumb:

Great win by the Colonels. All facets of the game were clicking in the second half.
