October 16, 200718 yr I would think the Johnson Center field would be most logical but I guess they want to show off the library. Its one of the best looking librarys in the country!!! Can you blame them?!?!?!?!
October 16, 200718 yr That's a good 10 minute walk to the stadium. Why would they set up that far away, doesn't really make much sense. I'm guessing it has something to do with the lack of places to do it around Commonwealth. Also, they are going to be right in the middle of campus where all the students can participate. Once you see the location, you will understand why they picked it. It will be perfect.
October 16, 200718 yr Very true, they did put it closer to the middle of campus. You have to consider the effect of having it in that bowl in front of the library. 1. it's a lot like an ampitheater there with it being bowl shaped, this could make it louder 2. it will elevate the back of the crowd, meaning: guys...if you're going to bring signs...this is a perfect opportunity. It should also make the crowd look bigger 3. it shows off the library, which is quite nice 4. it's in a location that will be easily accesible by most people and space shouldn't be a problem for all who want to attend A couple problems I see with having it in the Johnson Center field are that it's a limited space. Meaning, that area is fenced in, so if there is a huge crowd that shows up, not everyone would be able to fit onto the field. Also, the Johnson Center field is surrounded by a big fence....not very scenic. And, it's really close to that area where a lot of college students tailgate. This could cause problems such as someone's BBQ smoke wafting into the picture. Things like that.

October 16, 200718 yr Its one of the best looking librarys in the country!!! Can you blame them?!?!?!?! Not really but the Johnson Center is a sweet looking place also and would hold a lot more people and is closer to the stadium. Regardless, the library will definitely look sweet.
October 19, 200718 yr There is a lot of people down there already... I think the setup, with the library in the background, looks pretty sweet.
