Honestly, you guys want CCH to lose BUT still want the chance to knock them out of the playoffs... Oh wait, that's me...:fire:

I'm going to say CCH is the favorite to win, but I feel it all depends on which Holmes team shows up. If the team that beat Dixie shows up this game could get really interesting.

Don't look at the Holmes game as being a game being played on the road, as just 40 short years ago, when CovCath was just starting to play football, our Home Field was indeed the Holmes Field! Just think how far from those humble beginning of selling the World Greatest Chocolate Bars, to playing our first game at the Holmes Field and how glad we were just in getting the chance to play Football CovCath has come, and you are very much a part of that history. CovCath has had some great moments on that field: Our first home game, our first home victory, and beating HHS for the first time ever, including that "With a spirit, that will not die" attitude, at least in football, that all started on that field you will play on Friday Night. So my young Colonels when you get ready to play this week's game think about all the oldguys like myself who will be rooting you on from the stands, and thinking about how just 40 short years ago we were on that same field playing just like you. While the equipment is better, and the uniforms certainly look much better, both then and now, CovCath was/is the team we were playing for. So win this game for yourself, the school, and your fans, but score one TD for us Oldguys.........

 

Oldguy I love your idea and approach but I've just GOT to upset your Apple Cart. That is definitely not the same field you guys played on (I know, I was around back then) in the "bad old days" of CovCath football. This is the new Holmes stadium. The silver railing that ran all the way around the field is gone, so is the cinder track and the seating on both sides of the field. The hill where the Bulldogs had to walk down from the Senior Building locker room is gone. No, you have no history there, don't be comfortable in the least! :thumb:

From my experience, Holmes has the talent to beat anyone on any given night. They can also just as easily self destruct and lose this game by 40. IMO CovCath needs to come out and put a couple of scores up early in this game. The longer the Dawgs stay in the game, the more dangerous they become.

And Tom Ellis isn't there any more either. (only oldtimers will know Coach Tom)

I have not heard anything definite. I did hear that early prognosis says its not a serious injury.
