The only game where I thought Mason County looked the least bit soft was against Campbell County. One of MC's players blew out a knee on a clip on the first punt of the game, then Campbell came out and outhit and outplayed Mason the entire game. Against Boone County, it wasn't a case of being soft in the second half; more like being tired and having Boone effectively make adjustments in their running game.

 

I think this one comes down to speed vs. power; and whichever team imposes its will and its game plan on the other wins.

 

Keep in mind. A Russell fan did not make that statement. I have never seen a soft Mason County team. They are always ready to play. I will second the thing about trash talk. We don't need it. Neither does Mason County. The teams will be ready without it.

... Mason's speed vs. Russell's size should make for an entertaining matchup. Who would have thought that a 3A game in the northeast corner of the state would get so much attention?!

 

It's good that this match-up is focusing attention on NE Ky - one of the few bright spots. :thumb:

I think that this is going to be the toughest test for both teams so far this year. Hope everyone comes out of the game uninjured.

 

I think Boone was a tougher test for Mason that they obviously did not pass. However, Russell has tradition and a legacy of winning. This game will show whether Mason is a contender or a pretender. I think they are for real and that Coach B is going to see his program jump up to the next step which would be annual contenders. Good Luck Royals. :thumb:

Could one of you guys help with some information about the stadium. Is it by the High School and is there lots of seating on the visitors' side? Thanks for the help in advance.

Mason County is ranked 4th in the state. I'm sure they already have the respect of most observers.
