October 12, 200718 yr Jim Tressel....He seems prepared for both sides of the ball. OSU's defensive schemes, stifle opponents and often establish great field position, for the offense. Another Coach I like, is Mark Richt of Georgia. Seems to stay calm, similar to Tressel and relies on defense, most of the time.

October 12, 200718 yr I like this question and it provoked some deep thought on my part. I say Jim Tressel of Ohio State. I will add, that of the long list of former coaches, I also like Bear Bryant. However, for one game I will say Lou Holtz. The Bear would rarely be an underdog, but Lou Holtz was the master at motivating an underdog. I remember his Arkansas team playing in the Orange Bowl missing several starters and they waxed Oklahoma. Also, his USC team playing in the Outback Bowl as a decided underdog and waxing Ohio State who was coached by.............Jim Tressel. Lou could talk his teams into running through brick walls. Maybe I ought to change my choice of current coaches?
