I think a true litmus test is set up a Florida vs. "Someone in Top 10" game and how many of those would you pick the Gators to win?

I honestly think LSU is the only top-10 team I would pick to win against them.

UK is about where they should be in this poll. Top 20 is about right.

 

USF had all they wanted from Florida Atlantic and just pulled away in the very end. USF is a solid squad, but someone will knock them off.

 

UF is better than #13 and shouldn't have fallen as far as they did. Look who they lost to, .. on the road!

I don't know....Oklahoma, Oregon, West Virginia would all give them some fits...because of pure speed.

What a crazy season! At least 1/2 of the teams in the top 10 NOBODY would have put there before the season starts. That's why they play the games, and it does add for a lot more excitement! (If college football wasn't exciting enough)!!!

If LSU/USC (and maybe Oregon/Oklahoma) only have 1 loss, absolutely. If the 1 loss teams are Mizzou, VT, or Wisconsin, then probably not.

They play UCF at home next week...they should be safe IMO.

Don't count on it. It's a rivalry game. Another War on I-4 thing. Last year USF just barely won it in Orlando.

 

I think USF's defense is as good as anybody's in the nation, but if Grothe has a bad game, they are in trouble against the likes of Rutgers and Cincinnati. I'm just thankful they have UC at home. Having said that, I've noticed that every week somebody else steps up to make plays. Mike Ford against Auburn. Jamar Taylor against WVA, and Benjamin Williams last Saturday.

The media darlings USC once again get over hyped. I dont see USC as a top 10 team. They struggled with Idaho, they beat a Nebraska team that was clearly overhyped, they struggled to beat a bad Washington team, and they lost to a Stanford team that was a 41 point underdog. It would be interesting to see some of the other up an coming programs like South Florida, Boston College, Kentucky, Cincinatti, etc put up those numbers against these squads and see where they would be ranked. Im sorry, put Pete Carroll and USC are human, they have down years as well, and the media should be smart enough to see it.

I agree. I also agree that Fla is better than 13th.

The SEC East is TOUGH! I think it is safe to say that BC and USF are both overrated at this point though.

 

BC and USF may be overrated but as another has stated - with all of the so called better teams losing, these two have not lost so they really advanced due to the others being upset and/or overrated and losing. I am not so sure that USF should not be that high either, they have beaten WVU and Auburn/Auburn had beated Florida. That imo is why they are where they are.

Florida loses to the #1 team in the country by 4 on the road and drop 4 spots?

 

I know that's how the polls work but I can never stand when a team that's ranked lower plays a team ranked higher really close on the road and moves down in the polls. Especially since odds makers say home field advantage is worth 6-7 points and they're within 4...
