October 7, 200718 yr Author The slow start had me scared. Good thing they turned it on there in the 3rd. How many times did Bob Davie say that UC's defense is small but fast? If I TIVO'd it, I would go back and count. Every time they were on the field and made a play, "That defense is small, but man are they fast." He was the same with the Mauk injury. Do some homework Bob. That was straight off the game notes...
October 7, 200718 yr He was the same with the Mauk injury. Do some homework Bob. That was straight off the game notes... True. How many times did he point out the scar and mention the pins/screws?
October 7, 200718 yr He has to be in the running for coach of the year. It's early but it's exciting to see the Bearcats playing at the level they are.
October 7, 200718 yr Author True. How many times did he point out the scar and mention the pins/screws? Bob was bad, but I bet he had the same reaction that I did when I saw his arm. It's hard to believe Mauk is even playing when you see it. As for the rest of his "analysis" I bet Chuck could have done a better job...
October 7, 200718 yr A shame that this game and the LSU/UF game had to be on at the same time. Two of the best games I've seen in recent memory. I love the Mauk kid, he certainly holds nothing back. At points in the game I saw him get in the face of a defensive lineman, dive into a headlong collision, and continually stick his nose in there to pick up the tough yards. Can't help but to get behind this team, I'd love to see them continue this success if for no other reason than to steal a few recruits from OSU.
October 7, 200718 yr Watched the game in a bar tonight and I have to say UC is a very good squad. I thought they would seal the game during their 2nd to last posession but RU made it very interesting. Within 10 seconds, UC's backer made the pick and LSU scored to go ahead, very good night of football. Very solid road win vs a very good team. I'm sure Rice doesn't want to see the Bearcats again, UC really held him in check, I thought he had the TD on the bounce play but HN showed some great run support.
October 7, 200718 yr Congrats to the Bearcat faithful on the win...hung in there and made the key stops. I didn't watch the entire game, saw most of the first half and the last 7 minutes. Mauk is a gutty kid, I am more sold on him now than I was before the game. As GT mentioned, I believe, Rutgers is a great matchp for UC. I thought before the season Rutgers was very overrated, because their offense was not going to be better than last year, with the loss of Leonard, and the defense lost a bunch of people up front. I was even more surprised Schiano didn't bolt...but that is for a different thread. Teel is not a very good QB and they rely on Rice to set everything up. Teel is not going ot beat you. Rice got close to 100 yards but had to take a bunch of carries to get there. UC has a favorable schedule coming up. They should hammer Louisville. Their defense should contain the Ville, and their offense is suited just right to punish them. Congrats to the Bearcats...
October 7, 200718 yr Congrats to the Bearcats! I hope they run the table and give the BCS something to think about. I'd love to see all the "power" teams with a loss and UC undefeated. Keep it rolling.
