In fact our 7th graders have never completed with our 8th graders as a combined middle school team. I have no idea what you may have seen since I do not have the same blue colored glasses as you do. Rose Hill did in fact beat Verity's 7th grade team and their 8th grade teams. They did not compete against a combined 7th and 8th grade squad. My congrads to Kyle Bush, Ryan Wessel, Michael T and the rest of the Rose Hill squad for there accomplishments and I can only say I look forward to competing against them in the next several years.

I think that he was saying that the RH 7th grade team is also the 8th grade team.

Tell me your top 10 players and I can probably tell you where they went to Elem School at...And I know at least 5 that did not attend there.

I may need some help on this one but Rose Hill's top players would be:

Johnny Bush (4th grade)

Scott Gambil (pre school)

Nate Quackenbush (? I believe he was home schooled before coming to RHCS)

Mike Davis (pre school)

Alex Malloy (7th grade attended another private school prior to RHCS)

Chad Jackson (7th Grade Moved to Boyd Co. from Lexington)

Dakotah Euton (4th Grade)

Tony Arthur (pre school)

Michael Fuller (9th grade transfer from Russell)

Robbie Barber (4th grade?)

On the other hand if Rose Hill grades school products like Jacob Sparks (Raceland), Tyler Cooksey (Russell), Logan Watts (Raceland), KC Nichols (Raceland), Kyle Bair (East Carter) etc hadn't been plucked out of the Rose Hill system then maybe Rose Hill would score 100% on your home grown o meter. Of course last year, Rose Hill products Drew McDavid (Ashland) and Austin Blair (Russell) made a pretty big impact at other area schools as well. By my count that makes the score Tax Payer Funded Schools 7, Parent Funded School 1.

If where you attended grade school is the barometer then Rose Hill is making at least a partial claim on Brandon Webb.

Nice to see a new RH fan on BGP.

Not as nice as you might think. FWIW I just one person so fan would be more appropriate.

Once again...what is your point...I stated at least 5 of the top 10 did not attend Elem School there and you just proved that point. BTW, you have 4 listed but one did attend PreSchool there but spent Elem School days at Boyd County. So that makes 5 and that makes me correct:thumb:

BTW, also noticed another kid or 2 that will make an impact was not listed..why?...OH wait they just transferred this year..sorry.:sssh:

Once again...dont make a big deal about this...we all know the truth and nothing can change that. Great kids on that list with great parents.:thumb:

Your knowledge of Rose Hill is much better than mine. I listed the 10 kids that I saw play the most this summer so I don't know the other 2 you are referring to. If they just transferred this year then I am not aware of that, my mistake. Please let me know who the transfers are, if you wish just PM me.

I wonder if the Daily Independent plans on referring to last years Cy Young Award winner as "Rose Hill's own Brandon Webb" anytime soon.

I can't comment on all the names listed above, but I do know that Kyle Bair started elementary school in the Carter Co. system and was there for several years. He was then "plucked" away early on through the recruiting tool known as AAU basketball. It was always stated that he had all intentions of attending high school at East Carter where his uncle is somewhat of a legend if you will in the local sports scene. Congratulations are in order though, I had no idea that Rose Hill lays claim to a former CY Young winner. That is impressive!

Storm, you're a baseball guy and I like that.

I genuinely have no desire to keep stirring this pot, but I have to ask you... "What is your point?" I mean really? What's your issue here?

Every kid listed by MC, and any others who (you suggest) are not listed but participating in athletics at RH are 100% legitimate in regard to KHSAA rules. Believe it or not, Rose Hill plays by the exact same rules Boyd County, Ashland, Fairview, Raceland, Russell and every other public school is obligated to follow... maybe more so because everything RH does gets screened by the KHSAA... either voluntarily, or because someone took it upon them self to call Lexington to inform the KHSAA that RH "might" be doing something odd...

You say, "don't make a big deal about this" but you, Golden Gopher, Blue Blazer and others just can't resist slinging mud at Rose Hill. You say it's not at "great kids and great parents", but that's exactly who gets smeared by these claims. If any of you think RH is running afoul of the rules, PLEASE contact the KHSAA and tell them all about it. :thumb:

Apart from anything he may have meant to an athletic team, (either at RH or EC) I honestly believe that Kyle Bair's time and experiences at Rose Hill were good for him in ways that added to the quality and focus of his life... and would hope that both he and his family would agree.

Kyle is a great kid who is still loved by anyone who was close to him at Rose Hill. We wish him nothing but the best at East Carter. :thumb:

I'm sure you are correct in your post. I just get so tired of the complaining done by everyone on this board about Rose Hill. I myself don't care one way or the other but the way I see it they have done nothing wrong.

I don't know the Bair kid just saw him play as a grade schooler at Rose Hill.

Take a look around the area and you will find more athletes than you can imagine that have changed school systems during their lifetime. The list would gone on for a while. Just trust me that it isn't exclusive to Rose Hill.

But why limit it to kids look at the coaches who have moved from one school to another.

I feel that I need to clarify my first post. I have received some private messages about some mistakes I made.

Barber came to Rose Hill in the 3rd, Bush in the 5th, and Bair sometime around the 4th maybe the 5th.

I do know for sure that McDavid was there through the 6th, his younger brother at least through the 4th and Blair was there through the 8th.

Sorry I have missed so much fun, I had to let Dr. Paulus put some plumbing in my cardiac arteries, so that should prove to everyone I do have a heart. I think we agree Elliott is the class of the 16th but, should they stumble 3-4 teams are more than willing to pick up the torch and carry on
