I think Simon Kenton is its own biggest weakness. If they come out flat like they did against BC it will get ugly, but if they come out with a little emotion and swagger they can play with anyone.

Very true. The last several years they have been a power running team, however this year's offense features quicker backs, Dewalt and Simpson, with some power mixed in. The QB, Bustle, is a first year starter that has had his ups and downs as any inexperienced player will. He has some good hands to throw the ball to, primarily Ponzer. The defense is set up to stop the run and usually does a decent job of doing so. If they don't do a good job of stopping the run it will probably be a long night, also they are prone to being beat through the air, especially by a team with fast receivers.

What is Simon Kenton's strength as a team? Also what is their biggest weakness?

 

From what I've seen they aren't one dimensional, they really distribute the pigskin to 5 or 6 skilled players. Facing the Wing T should be a true test.

I really enjoy watching the Wing T. When I played for summit view we ran the Wing T and I was surprised as to how versitile the formation is.

 

As for the game, I voted SK due to me being a homer and my "limited" knowledge of Russell. Ipso facto, I have nothing to add that would benefit the conversation, but as always..I predict a good game.

Russell will have to be on their toes this week.... Simon Kenton may only be 3-3 but they have played some good competition up in Northern Kentucky... I believe this will be a good measuring stick of just how good our Devils really are.... Russell needs to come out and jump on SK early to get the crowd into it and make it a difficult and very hostile enviroment to play in......

 

The team that will win this game is the team that makes the least mistakes and turnovers... Russell is a young team but always well coached and when it comes down to it late in the ball game Russell knows how to get it done... that is something that you can't teach!!!!

The Wing T can be difficult to defend for teams that havn't seen it before. Plays that look the same may be different. Discipline on defense is a must. Russell has shown the ability to pass if needed but have been a very basic running team thus far.

I can agree on watching the Wing T when it is ran right(and Russell runs it right). I am old school and enjoy watching th offenses like the WingT, Wishbone, Veer, Power I, Option I and the like. Imo the only way to stop an offense like the WingT and other option styles would be to get penetration in the backfield and disrupt it before it gets started. That is JMO as a fan and watching these type "O's" and I realize that there are many that know much more than I do about it and how to defend it.

 

I don't know anything about SK other than what I have heard on here so I will just say that I hope that both teams remain injury free. :thumb:

I think we are all in for a treat. I see a very good game from these two teams. I'm sure S K is concerned about the Wing-T just as Russell is concerned about pass defense. I hope all the Simon Kenton fans enjoy our stadium and facilities. Have a safe trip.
