Just saw him a couple of days ago. Him and my son still keep in touch even though mine is 2 hours away at college.

Cool this is just like the six degrees of Kevin Bacon game where you can take a movie and trace one of the stars in the movie back to a movie with Kevin Bacon in it within six tries. Except this is the six degrees of Mason County and Russell. In another thread a Russell supporter stated that Russell is comparable to Boone AND Boone and Russell are way better than Mason County so let me try........ Boone beat Mason by 22, Campbell beat(sorry I meant crushed) Mason by 20, Boone beats Simon Kenton by 38, thus using this games obvious logic Russell, who was stated to be comparable to Boone, should beat Simon Kenton by 38 and might as well not even play the lowly Royals. AND Russell would beat Campbell by at least 28 as did Boone(Except Russell only plays 1 6A team who would be Simon Kenton so we will never know). Now that we have scientifically proven that Russell will crush Simon Kenton and Mason County(I did it in six degrees!!!).......... on with the games.:lol:

 

:confused: I'm confused. First, I am not a Russell supporter although I am a little familiar with them due to friends and reading stuff on here. Actually, my statement about Mason was not a slam but an opinion that Russell better be ready to play because SK beat a team that beat Campbell who beat Mason and my understanding is that Mason is a good team and serious threat to Russell in their district. No Mason Co. conspiracy in my post. Good luck to you guys the rest of the season.

Refer to post #17 in this thread. He specifically states he is not a Russell supporter. I for one know that Russell can and may be beat at any time. I'm not sure if we can beat either SK or Mason County. They are good football teams.

I knew the Devils were tough but 34 wins in a row at home is something that should be applauded. Kudos to both coaching staffs for scheduling a game like this, hopefully SK can rebound after a tough loss to BC. SK hasn't faced many Wing T teams, that type of offense is very tough to prepare for, a wrong read can lead to a very big play. Wish I could make the trip down the AA to the home of Billy Ray.

 

 

We look farward to having Simon Kenton come to Russell. It should be a very good game.

I can't wait for this one to kick off. Other than the Ashland game, I think this one has the potential to be a true test of this Devil team. A slow, uninspired first quarter could be a problem though. Let's hope Ivan and staff make a point of that in practice this week.

I will be pulling for the Red Devils, but it will take an upset to extend the home winning streak.

This should be a very good game. Russell will need to be mistake free IMO to pull this one out.

I'm not sure how this one will play out. I think its a toss up. This will be the first time since the Cabell Midland scrimmage that Russell has faced a team that is physically bigger and stronger than they are. If Russell comes out and plays with a different intensity level than they have that last few games then it should be a good game. If Russell comes looking like they are bored being there than SK will wipe up the field with them. I hope we see some fire this week because this is not an opponent that Russell can go into cruise control against.

Don't you have to be able to teach that? The coaches may be the same but the players are always changing. I do agree that it does become a mindset that develops through years of experience and continuity. The coaches know what it takes. The players believe in and trust the coaches and the younger players get to watch and LEARN so when its their turn they believe and know what to do too.

Hard to believe this is the last home game fo the regular season for the Devils. Talk about saving the three best games for last! Simon Kenton, followed by a trip to Mason County, and then the renewal of a rivalry some 34 years in the making at Raceland.

 

This is the Devil's senior night, it will have been a rainy sloppy week, the field will still be slow and I think that favors Russell and power running game. This will be a fantastic ball game, but I think the emotion of Senior night and the last regular season home game will get the Devils off to a fast start and help them ward off a late SK rally.
