October 5, 200718 yr I know these shows will be like stray bullets compared to Friends, Seinfeld, All in the Family, etc. (all of which I love), but I really liked It's Garry Shandling's Show and The Larry Sanders Show.

Seek help. j/k I actually watched War at Home for both seasons, and Season 1 was decent, but never great. I hoped for an improvement in the second season and it completely bombed. I blame the serious episodes that they tried to work in that were completely off the wall for that show.

October 5, 200718 yr Barney Miller barely makes the "last 25 years" so you have 3 now. This is easily one of the least appreciated sitcoms of all time. I was going to mention Barney Miller. One of if not the best I've ever seen. I laugh just thinking of Jack Soo.
October 5, 200718 yr As for ones that are over, I'd say "Friends" followed by "Everybody Loves Raymond" and then "King of Queens". Right now, IMO, "Rules of Engagement" is the BEST sitcom on TV right now. Living together before being married, and then being married for a few years now, the wife and I can relate to many things on the show. :lol: In a close second is "Two and a Half Men".

October 5, 200718 yr WKRP In Cincinnati "As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly" That episode was one of the greatest 30 minutes of comedy of all time. Les: It's a helicopter, and it's coming this way. It's flying something behind it, I can't quite make it out, it's a large banner and it says, uh - Happy... Thaaaaanksss... giving! ... From ... W ... K ... R... P!! No parachutes yet. Can't be skydivers... I can't tell just yet what they are, but - Oh my God, they're turkeys!! Johnny, can you get this? Oh, they're plunging to the earth right in front of our eyes! One just went through the windshield of a parked car! Oh, the humanity! The turkeys are hitting the ground like sacks of wet cement! Not since the Hindenburg tragedy has there been anything like this!
October 5, 200718 yr Although not technically sitcoms, I generally liked what I would call comedy-dramas like the Rockford Files and Magnum, P. I. better than sitcoms. Burn Notice which just finished its first season on the USA network has the same kind of mix of humor and action. It is a great series if you haven't seen it. As for sitcoms, All in the Family, MASH, and Barney Miller were all among my favorites. As for newere shows, I never cared much for Seinfeld and I could take or leave Friends but I like King of Queens and Everybody Loves Raymond. The Office is great and the best sitcom of the past 10 years, IMO.
