October 2, 200719 yr Give the Colonels some props. They beat a very (shall we say) physical team. The defense is insane when it comes to take aways... offense showed some firepower, but still not firing on all cylinders. Tough road trip to Milsap this week!
October 2, 200719 yr It was my first time there, fun game to watch. Centre looked to be in control most of the time. Fun stadium, good crowd - parents weekend. I liked the fact the coach yanked any player that got a personal foul. It's a small enough stadium I even got to hear the lecture - something along the lines of we expect more..... Very impressive to hear that type of coaching.

October 2, 200719 yr Yes. Thanks, I thought so. That campus is freaking beautiful, and as you pull in, between these stone columns, they have a stone sign built into one that simply states "The University of the South." Very cool place.

Yes, but the football stadium there has a sign above the press booth that reads "Yea, its Sewanee!" Sewanee is the one campus in the SCAC that may be prettier than Centre. I'm headed to Centre's Homecoming in late October.
October 5, 200719 yr You Centre College people out there give me some info on the school. My son has been getting a lot of correspondance from the football staff and he seems to be interested. By the way, he is a 4.0 gpa and a 30 ACT. You can PM me.

October 5, 200719 yr I know you never went to Depauw's but it is very nice as well. My favorite campuses were Davidson, Washington and Lee and Sewanee. Going to Sewanee you never knew if the bus was going to make it up that hill. Only in D-III. :lol: Washington & Lee was flat out unbelievable. I loved touring Lee's tomb and eating supper at VMI. I think the Centre-W&L game is the longest continually-played rivalry in DIII?

There is a lot to say about Centre. One figure I have found useful is that there are at least 35 County Attorneys in Kentucky who are Centre graduates.

There is no doubt there is a large group of lawyers in this state that are Centre graduates. I must know about 40 that at went to school with.
