September 23, 200719 yr Urrutia commits stupid personal foul. Kragthorpe acts tough and pulls him. Takes a little lip from him on the sideline. Sends him in a series or so later. Urrutia commits another personal foul, this time worse than the last. Kragthorpe pulls him again, Urrutia acts like a big baby on the sideline. Inexplicably, he gets sent back in again. I'm as big a U of L fan as there is, but the tail is wagging the dog on this team.
September 23, 200719 yr UL defense is awful and Kragthorpe is doing basically nothing to change it. Bottomline, he's the head coach and is the ultimate decider. UT's defense has been horrible, but all you hear is Fulmer. Same scenario.
September 23, 200719 yr Found this on a UL board posted by a UL fan. Turns out after a loss their isnt' much difference between a UL football fan and UK basketball fans.

September 23, 200719 yr I know this is a football thread, but does this just show that its just not that easy to take over a talented team and still have the same success as the great coach before him the very next year? I think this kind of shows for the people who said Tubby didn't win that National Title that it was Pitino's. That is not that easy to just take over a team and win still after a coaching change no matter how good the team is. Coach K is a good coach, but it will just take some time...

September 23, 200719 yr Found this on a UL board posted by a UL fan. Turns out after a loss their isnt' much difference between a UL football fan and UK basketball fans. People keep wanting to compare UK fans agaisnt Tubby to UofL fans against Kragthorpe, but there is a major difference. Tubby won a national championship and held one of the best records in college basketball. Kragthorpe has done nothing to enhance the Louisville program. The difference is HUGE.

He's only coached 4 games. Maybe he should be given some time to bring in players that fit his schemes? Besides at least 18% don't believe that Tubby won a national championship.

Tubby also believed in defense and defense wins championships. Something Kragthorpe has yet to discover in Derbytown. Together they'd make one heckuva coach.

UT's defense has been horrible, but all you hear is Fulmer. Same scenario. It hasn't just been this season in Fulmer's case. UT is now only 16-12 in their last 28 games--there is no excuse for that with their resources. Two years ago it was all Randy Sanders and the offense's fault. What happens, Sanders is forced out, comes to UK as a quarterback coach and suddenly Andre Woodson becomes a Heisman candidate while Ainge hasn't gotten any better since he was a freshman. This season it's the defense. Add to that all the arrests and misconduct by the team and it is obvious that Fulmer is doing a very poor job at UT the last 2+ seasons

A fumble away from possibly winning a bowl last year so what's your point. Fulmer is doing fine. After Sanders left for UK, we had a 9-4 season that could've easily been a BCS season if ainge stays healthy. Say what you want about Fulmer, but if you're a UK fan, when was the last time you beat him? Close only counts in horseshoes. Do you think Woodson will be a Heisman candidate by the time they get through the SEC? I think the high road he is on now may fade a little, especially if Tebow stays healthy and continues to do what he does. We'll see about Dre when they play UF and LSU.

Ironic isn't it.  Now "some" of the U.L. fans that were putting the Tb'ers down and laughing at the U.K. fans are now Coach K bashers.
September 23, 200719 yr Does the state of UL's football program mean that Jurich is not all that he was hyped up to be? All everyone heard during the hiring process was that Jurich was the man, and would hire the best coach out there. He picked Coach K, and almost all of the UL faithful were thrilled. What has happened in a few short months? People need to give Coach K a chance. UL was not as good as expectations, period.

If you think 16-12 over his last 28 games is "fine" for UT football you're crazy. If the Vols don't rally and post at least 9-10 wins this season he is done.
