SK has to beat Highlands first on thursday night, but I believe they have already wrapped up their spot in the championship.

Crane played limited and SK did win their division. So they will play the winner of the other division. The other division will be based on how SK ends their season? They play Highlands this week and Cov Cath next week. If either team beats SK then I think that is the team that comes out of the other division provided they win out. What a mess? I will say this, if SK plays the way they did tonight, they won't win out. Four turnovers and 10+ pentilites, that won't beat Highlands or Cov Cath.

CC is still in the mix but SK has already played them. I believe all 3 teams have the same record right now? So the way I understand it, the next tiebreaker would be overall record. If either Highlands or Cov Cath loses to SK, I think that would eliminate them provided CC wins out.

I was mistaken about if Highlands or Cov Cath beats SK. If Highlands wins and Cov Cath loses then I think CC wins the division based on head to head with Highlands. If Highlands loses and Cov Cath wins then Cov Cath would wins the division base on their win over CC. Both based on CC winning out. If both teams beat SK and their's a 3 way tie ( division and overall record) I don's have a clue who comes out?

During the BYE week did Newport play Anderson HS ? Curiuos how good they may be . Beechwood has added them next week ,Sat. 10-27 at 10:00 am at B'Wood . Any info on them ???

There appears to be a possibility. Firstly, Highlands must win the remaining two games on the schedule, at Simon Kenton (undefeated) and at Conner. Then, Campbell County would need to lose to Ryle (6-1) at home or to Boone County. Lastly, Cov Cath would need to lose to either Holmes or Simon Kenton. This scenario would give Highlands a 7-2 record, and Campbell County/Cov Cath 6-3 records, so no tie breaker would come into play. Things should be a lot clearer this Thursday around 8:00 pm, following the HHS @ SK and Ryle @ CC games.

 

Hopefully Highlands Freshmen understand the implications of this Thursday's showdown with the formidable Pioneers of Simon Kenton and are practicing with the intensity they will need to display Thursday night! It will be a great one to watch.
