So close to a short term goal

I wish I was that strong. I got some guys that I hang out with that put me to shame in the weight room. Those guys are some beast. 2 of them for sure do 400+ on the bench and the other one is pretty close. The weakest one on squat does 585 and the weakest one on the hang clean does like 365. It just blows my mind to see those dudes workout.

My shaved head buddy from last weekend, as you'd guess, can throw some weight around. He is a beast.

Must run in the family according to what you said his brother does for a living.

His brother, the strength / conditioning guy, is a lot stronger but not nearly as defined.

I had a decline in reps as far as the 225 goes

Set one-22

Set two-16

Set three 14

Set four 15

I hope I can recover because I was really sadden over the decline.

Today was a decent day for me on the bench.

I started at 250 for 8 and ended with 300 for one.

This was the first time I started at the 250 mark.

I cant believe your sad over doing 225 for that many reps and that many sets. I used to have a heck of a time doing 225 for 3 sets of 12 and you did all those. Thats throwin up some weight there my friend. You may be the strongest 44 year old person ever.

Yes it is time for me to share again. This time something good well good to me.

I stink at Bench Pressing but I'm working hard at it.My short term goal (End of Sept) is to be able to get 222 pounds for 20 reps. Yesterday I got it for 18 so close but so far to go.

Raising that bench press weight isn't as easy as it seems. I work out hard every week and I can usually go up exactly one rep on my last set each week. In other words, it takes me about a month or more to actually increase the weight of the last set by only 5 pounds.

I went down two reps that is what I am sad about.Hopefully on Saturday I have a better day. Age for the most part is a number we often use as a reason not to do things. Most people my age use it way to often and that is the biggest reason most of my friends are younger.

Actually Newark reminds me of my best friends step dad. He's right around 50, a union guy that works out almost daily. Guy can still rep 315 on Incline 12x's.

To be honest I'd say they're probably about the exact same build. BTW:sssh:

Thats insane, especially considering it is incline to.

That's exactly what I said to. I did over time find out that he was at one point Mr. Michigan. It's just most people like that drop off a good bit over time. I've got some fun stories about him, and jerks with bright ideas. Overall I think he's one of the nicest/(definitely)scariest parents I've ever met.

The funny thing is that even though not related 3 of the 4 stepsons are all over 6 ft and bench over 300lbs. I think I should've lived with them just while growing up.

Your a funny guy.

Went to the doctor the other day for my arm because I just couldn't take it anymore. Sharp, sharp pains from sever tendonitis.

Well he gave me some steroids(not juice/methylprednislin), and said I could still work out but to watch my lifts to make sure I don't cause further irritation. Well unfortunately one of the side effects is high blood pressure, and also nervousness.

Needless to say the meds are working so I'm going to finish them, however, I'm paranoid as heck right now and scared to even sleep because my blood pressure when I'm trying to go to bed, has been what it ususally is towards the end of a work out for me. Wish me luck guys, only 4-5 more days I'm supposed to take the stuff.
