Most of the weight is in my gut. It seems to be the only thing that grows know matter what I do.

Same problem here. I lift, tug, push, at work and I think I'm making progress in the lose weight game, but I just look at a sandwich and I seem to gain 5lbs.:irked:

I take back road to where ever I'm going because if I pass a place that has for for sale I gain weight.:scared:
Yes it is time for me to share again. This time something good well good to me.

I stink at Bench Pressing but I'm working hard at it.My short term goal (End of Sept) is to be able to get 222 pounds for 20 reps. Yesterday I got it for 18 so close but so far to go.

Let me tell you something, as someone who has lifted weights for the last 38 years if you can bench 222 for 18 reps you don't suck at it in fact that's outstanding no matter what you weigh.Keep it up.

Exactly and especially being 44 years old. He's stronger than quite a few college football players.

Even though I'm a little sore and stiff from the car wreck I am going to hit the weights today, or at least try to.

I am schedule to do what we call the Buckeye workout.

Today I start with 245 for 8 reps

and work my way down to 1 rep with 295.

This will be my first attempt starting at 245 hopefully I can get it done.

I got through the 245 workout with ease.

I started like I said at 245 for 8

My last set was suppose to be 295 for one but I went ahead and did it for two. Next Wed I will start at 250 for 8 ending with 300 for a single.Hopefully I can double it too.

Saturday I will do the 225 for as many as possible. My goal is to beat the 24 I did last week. Wish me luck.

How many days a week do you do bench Newark?

I'm trying to get mine back but to be honest flat bench kills my shoulder(3'rd degree seperation, torn labrum). I mostly just do incline and decline these days. I really want to be able to do 275 about 6-8 times on incline, right now I'm at 225, and have been battling some stupid tennis elbow for about a month now.

Twice a week.

We try and do it on Wed and Sat but if something comes up we move the entire schedule around. Benching has been my biggest weakness and up till now I hated doing it.

The workout you do now on bench is pretty similar to what I was doing 2 years ago when I was playing ball in college.

My sets used to be

225 for 10 (if we did that many reps)

245 for 8

265 for 6

275 for 4

290 for 2

315 for 1 (sometimes I'd get it twice if I was feeling extra good that day).

I can't wait until I can get 315 for two.

315 For a single is my best but we have not tried to max for a while.

I would see numbers like this and roll my eyes (in disbelief).....until this past Saturday. Now my response would be: is that all you can get up? I'd have had you at close to 400 pounds on the bench. :D:cool:

I wish I was that strong. I got some guys that I hang out with that put me to shame in the weight room. Those guys are some beast. 2 of them for sure do 400+ on the bench and the other one is pretty close. The weakest one on squat does 585 and the weakest one on the hang clean does like 365. It just blows my mind to see those dudes workout.

Judging by how much weight and how many reps your doing i'd be very surprised if you couldnt get 315 twice.
