This is a website of UK fans. Does this not happen on other boards? I have never looked but I'd guess it does on Vandys, Ole Miss, and a few others. Could be wrong (I am due to be a second time this year.)
Despite what some think ,this is NOT a UK board.

Ok, so what you're saying is, that since Ole Miss and Vady do it, that it is a bad SEC school thing to build up your conference to make you feel better?

I asked a legit question, what's the problem?

Why are UK fans the only ones ever to bring up how tough there conference is or how weak another's conference is?

I realize that this is a football forum and discussion but the truth is that down here in ACC country there are many ACC fans who have a similar attitude about basketball and the ACC. It was always amazing to me the number of UVA fans and Clemson fans and the like that talked about how great the ACC was over any and all basketball conferences but their teams were awful. They explained it away as being from a tough conference.

It sounded a lot like UK football fans. I'm not saying it to make it right but in response to your statement that "other fans" don't do this, I've found that untrue down in ACC land. :thumb:

Ok, so should the question be, why do bad teams justify being bad by being in tough conference?

IU is a horrible football team. And they are in a tough conference. I admit it, that means they suck, no more no less. that fact that they are in a tough conference has no bearing on that fact.

Self-esteem, the ability to say, "yes, we're bad, but look what we belong to." It's a basic human coping mechanism based on frustation and a need to be accepted and belong. One could say it's an attempt to rise above what they are and attatch to what is perceived as a thing of reverence. A cry for unknown respect.

Rock stars have groupies, Rappers have Posses, the SEC has UK.

Did that answer it enough to make you happy???? :)

As has been pointed out, they're not. Not even close.

Quit being a hater.

Another difference. I am a hater, I hate UK, not afraid to admit it.

On here, they're the only ones. So let's use that as our frame of reference.

Let's use as our frame of reference that UK is coming off of a big bowl win and is very good right now. So yes, people talking about how they used to stink are mostly haters who are not living in the present.

Is it safe to say that after this year when they are back to mediocrity that they are/were a flash in the pan??

The Big 10 is pretty top-heavy.

The Big 10 is pretty top-heavy.
Top 4 in each Conference.

Florida(13-1), Auburn(11-2), LSU(11-2), Tennessee(9-4).

Ohio State(12-1), Wisconsin (12-1), Michigan(11-2), , Penn State(9-4),

Looks pretty even to me, as far being top heavy.

To understand if a conference is top-heavy you have to look at the whole conference, not just the top teams.

If you're trying to say it's top heavy and I provide the top four from each conference and they are dead on each other, why would that not resolve that question?

B/c the bottom four would show exactly how "out of balance" the conference is...
