No, actually I didn't, unless they both played a second bowl game against each other.

Seriously GT why such the UK hater all of a sudden?

I just get sick of this silliness every year. It's a decades old crutch for UK fans and it comes off as petty. The SEC is very good at the top every year, it's nothing new...

The funny thing about this thread is that no one even mentioned UK until 98 brought it up, and from there it has somehow turned into a thread that is a "crutch" for UK fans...how did that happen and who started it down that path? I don't recall seeing anything about it in the original post.

Hint: Try post #4 of this thread...:thumb:

They're are a lot of SEC fans in Kentucky...go figure...who would have ever thought that?

Hint: That was his point...

I really couldn't care less which conference is top heavy, but I do believe, as do most un-biased fans, that the SEC is the strongest football conference.

Here's the stupid part, I agree.

And that's not what I was discussing in here at all.

It was said that the Big 10 was top heavy, it is not any mroe top heavy than the SEC, I proved that.

Why do SEC fans (which it's ridiculous to say you're a fan of an entire conference) have to bring down other conferences to try to argue that they're the best?

Of course it was referencing UK. Why else would a UK fan post the article?

So you're claim is that this article was posted and had absolutely nothing to do with UK?

Apples and Oranges, Oranges and Apples, no matter what gets said on this thread, it's not going to change any of the "he-said-she-said" and even with head to head games, it just starts something new. Sec/UK fans and Big Ten/98 fans are going to believe what they believe, regardless. Wasted time and wasted effort. No point will ever end this decisively. Going to agree with 5wide here. Started as a who is the best conference type of thing and turned into a UK bash/UK crutch thing. Last thing I'll say is if you took all the elite teams out of their conferences and put them in the SEC, how would they do???? Same for the Big Ten????

I do see one big positive for the $EC this year. For the first time in 20 years there isn't a single program on probation.

I have fans!!!!!! :dancingpa  :dancingpa  :dancingpa  :dancingpa  :dancingpa

I agree that the SEC is the toughest, and that's not what I was arguing.

Not once did I say that the Big 10 was stronger than the SEC, just that they are as much or as little top heavy as the SEC.

Hmmm....I guess I'm just an idiot, because it didn't seem like that was his only point...

Here's the thing...it does happen a lot and it does get old that UK fans bring up the SEC's toughness as an excuse for the football program's failures. There is some truth to it, but it's also a defeatists attitude and how long is it applicable? But, if a UK doesn't bring it up, someone else will get it started (see post #4) and then complain about being sick of it and call it silliness.

So, just like it gets old for you guys hearing the "excuse", it gets kinda old to me that when a UK fan doesn't bring it up, someone else will and then bash UK fans about it...it goes both ways, as do most things on BGP.

We like the SEC...we like to talk about it...we relish the fact that it's the strongest conference in the nation...it would be like me joining Buckeyepreps.com and then bashing the people for talking about the Big Ten...

Of course it was referencing UK. Why else would a UK fan post the article?

Sorry, I don't have the ability to read his mind like you...I usually just take the posts at face value and since it didn't mention UK, I figured it was another article about the SEC.

Silly me...:sssh:

I don't understand your point and gametime's point in all this. Someone posted an article about the SEC. There is a lot of SEC fans, mainly UK, but a few others on this site. And the very second the article is posted its time to start putting down UK. No one had even said anything, just posting an article and talking about it and its like you guys get jealous and upset all of a sudden. There is stuff on here about UC posted all the time that I could care less about, but Im not just going to use that to bash UC.

Sounds like a bad case of conference envy;)
