Top 4 in each Conference.

Florida(13-1), Auburn(11-2), LSU(11-2), Arkansas (10-4), Tennessee(9-4).

Ohio State(12-1), Wisconsin (12-1), Michigan(11-2), , Penn State(9-4),

Looks pretty even to me, as far being top heavy.

UF - 41

tOSU - 14

Auburn - 17

Nebraska - 14

LSU - 41

ND - 14

Wisconsin - 17

Arkansas - 14

USC - 32

Michigan - 18

PSU - 20

UT - 10

Close, but the SEC is clearly better.

Maybe a lot of people are just SEC fans and like SEC football...it's possible, and not out of the ordinary for football fans to prefer a conference where the best football is played on an annual basis. :thumb:

B/c the bottom four would show exactly how "out of balance" the conference is...
was hoping you'd say that.

Bottom four:

Mississippi St. (3-9), Mississippi (4-8), Vanderbilt (4-8), Alabama (6-7)

Illinois (2-10), Michigan St (4-8), Northwestern (4-8), Iowa (6-7)

Again, almost identical.

What's next......

In the games you listed above, and not sure why they are relevant, the Big 10 is 2-1 against the SEC. :D Thanks.

Records are going to be fairly identical in every major conference, but that doesn't mean they are equal in terms of talent. If the top teams have good records, the bottom teams obviously aren't going to...

Try listing the number of 4 and 5 star recruits for the SEC compared to the Big 10. Then follow that with the number first round draft picks. I have no idea how it would shake out, but I've got a pretty good guess.

And BTW, if those teams all played in order of their standings, the SEC team would win at least 3 out of 4, and probably all 4.

Seriously, how far down are you going to have to dig?

Just admit the Big Ten is no more top heavy than the SEC.

Whether the Big Ten is better or worse than the SEC, I couldn't care less, but to just blidly say the Big Ten is top heavy with no facts to support the claim is just wrong.

Wow, now we're talking hypotheticals. You have to come with more than that..

I'm not digging, I'm just saying that records aren't always indicative of how good a team is (Ohio State?).

Players ARE indicative, though.

I really couldn't care less which conference is top heavy, but I do believe, as do most un-biased fans, that the SEC is the strongest football conference.

I think the Big Ten is a solid conference that has a good mix of teams--top to bottom.

Go ahead and spin that compliment into a blind UK fan having no knowledge of football or reality. Unlike some think on here not all UK fans are as bad as you say.

Conjecture and dialogue are hypotheticals, though mine is more opinion than anything else.

You forgot Arkansas vs USC...

You forgot Arkansas vs USC...

No, actually I didn't, unless they both played a second bowl game against each other.

Seriously GT why such the UK hater all of a sudden?

Here's a fact though...

According to Rivals, among the top 25 recruiting classes of '07, the Big 10 teams on the list landed 34 four or five star recruits.

The SEC teams on the list....
