Now that the 2007 season is underway and the new 6-class system is in place, which 1 or 2 teams look to benefit most under this system in 2007, and why? One team that jumps out at this point is Louisville Central. They are the preseason favorite in Class 3A this year under the new system, which is an unusual place for them to be in.

Hehe, Mayfield will have something to say about that, But from what I have seen, Tilghman has got it made to the semis.

Tilghman and Louisville Central are your big winners... particularly Tilghman though as they move playoff matchups against Bowling Green and Hopkinsville out of the way.

Either them or Mayfield. But that's not totally different from the past. Losing NCC and Danville helps, though!

Don't count your titles before they hatch...lol. Granted Beechwood got help by not having to play NCC, the same as Mayfield with Danville...to bad this put Mayfield and Beechwood in the semis and not finals...would be great to see these two teams with the possibilty to meet for all the marbles...but to say that Beechwood will dominate Class A is a bit bold...especially seeing how there is one class A team they have never beaten.

You folks in Mayfield are correct that its not a guarantee that Beechwood wins this class. A semifinal matchup between the schools would take place in western Kentucky so the Beechies would have to make the long trip. I would probably pick Mayfield to win Class 1A, just based upon that, for right now.

I think that Trinity has benefitted from the revised shedule. Reducing the number of district games has resulted in a great schedule.

I agree with that JB. Also I think South Laurel came out good although they are in the same district with Whitley. Both now have a realistic chance year in year out of winning that district.

South Laurel is not in the same district even though every team that comes to play Whitley will have to drive right past South Laurel and Whitley will have to go past South Laurel on every away game. South Laurel's political connections were not quite as good as Whitley's.

It's got to be Holmes. They were so fortunate to be moved to the same district as CCH and HHS. (Sorry, I couldn't find a smiley dripping with enough sarcasm.)
