Yes missing your top player on top of having only three returning starters could prove to set up along game.

Against a rebuilding Ryle squad and Bacon? I hope the Defense is as stout as many expect them to evolve into, but being good against those teams and being good at Nippert against LaSalle are horses of different colors.

While I'm hoping for a huge CCH upset, from a logical standpoint it is hugely unlikely.

Football is about heart, will, hard work, commitment, teamwork and persistence. There is nothing logical about it.

Sure, there are a few questions marks, but these kids are some of the best athletes in the Northern Kentucky area and they have developed a winning tradition. Also, many of the kids that are playing this year are coming off a pretty solid JV season.

I have seen a lot of the practices and both scrimmages and I think they will hold their own against anybody. They are motivated, confident, very well conditioned and well coached.

Plus, the purpose of playing the Ohio teams is to get them ready for the post-season. The offense is problematic, but the defense will raise the level of play of the offense and they will be in the hunt when it counts.

I guess we will have to wait and see....

We have a Philosphy forum?

Seriously, you throw out a bunch of cliches but no one in their right mind is picking CCH - as much as many of us would love to see it.

So, yes, logic does play a big part in making picks. Now if you're saying anything can happen.... we're all with you. However, you can NEVER discount the logical portion of the brain.

Picking with your heart is never the intelligent path to follow.

LaSalle in a big way, same old story with GCL school they have over 1000 boys to pull from and CCH has 500. Last year would have been different but this is an extremely inexperienced CCH squad with losing 18 starters and their best player(Buckley is out for 6 weeks). I hate to say this but this will be a long year unless they move forward quickly over the next month or so

LaSalle 42

CCH 7

Not to rain on your parade, but the facts are a little different.

LaSalle has 593 boys, grades 10-12. They are actually on the verge of falling to D2 in Ohio. So the advantage isn't nearly what you are making it out to be, especially given the fact that CovCath is a football magnet in NKY and LaSalle is HARDLY such in Cincy.

LaSalle isn't nearly as good as 3rd in the city. By the coaches in the GCL, they were picked to finish dead last. They have a few good players but trust me, they aren't going to drop 42 on anybody. Least of all CovCath.

LaSalle 21

CovCath 7

These two teams should be even most years but given the large number of players that graduated from CCH and the few stars returing for LaSalle, this game will be worse than the score indicates.

Any news on Brent Buckley's condition?

Any news on Brent Buckley's condition?

Same as when his doctors performed the surgery, which was the same estimate they gave him when he injured it. Broken left Fibula, out for 5 to 8 weeks.

I think it's safe to say he will be out 5 to 8 weeks and will be back for the playoffs. ;)

I'm convinced Buckle has the size, speed, and toughness to be a D1 free safety. Zero doubt.

Is this game going to be on TV?

No.

Hard to argue with you, he's an excellent player for sure.:thumb:

35+ for LaSalle and 14 to 17 for CovCath.

There is no way that the CCH defence gives up 35+ maybe 21. But im going to be bold and say LaSalle scores 14!!!!

He should be back by Elder in week 8.

With the new coaching staff, new starters, and the loss of their best player, coupled with the solid level of competition in Lasalle, I'll say that week 1 is going to be a rough one for the Colonels.

Lasalle 34

CCH 10

Any radio broadcast?
