Your prediction that the Dunbar Bulldogs will go 9-1 will probably be valid this time next year. You are one year premature......no way this year, in my opinion.

 

They have an excellent junior group of players.

Cov. Cath.,Ryle,Beechwood and at Cammpbell County will all be good games. They won't win all of those and may not win any.

 

I hope there are more people who think like this because when you see the team speed NCC has you will think the boys further up the hill are overrated in this category. By the way the Camels come to NEWPORT to play the Breds.

 

I agree the Camels are better than they used to be but this is without a doubt the quickest team NCC has ever had. This is not to brag, this is to educate people who are not into what the Breds are about to achieve!!!

 

If they lose it will be to Beechwood @ BWood the week before the playoffs.

I agree the quickest ever, overall team speed. I understand during the much overrated 40 yard dash timings, there were 8-10 players timed at 4.5 or 4.6. Speed kills in H.S. football.....this stable of T-breds can run. Maybe after the Louisville trip in December we can enter some of the Breds in an Allowance race at Churchill Downs. Just kidding but they can really move quite well. Thoroghbreds love to run this group especially:thumb:

I agree wit you, and I posted this last week in the Ryle/CovCath Scrimmage thread.

 

Will CovCath have a winning season? My guess is that CovCath will have a losing season, due to their schedule. I could see a losing season, not because they are bad, but because of the quality of the teams from top to bottom that they are playing this year....

Beechwood Win.....Upset.....First night game ever at CovCath, Coach Brossart first game against his old High School, Senior night, and 40th year for Football at CovCath.... It will be a very emotional game for the Colonels.

That's only 4 wins and 6 losses, but they make the playoffs and upset Dixie, then lose to HHS at HHS.....

The beechies Don't beat NCC this year, sorry my friend.....that is not allowed to happen for a few more years. If I recall correctly Beechwood has not beat NCC in sometime....NCC has beaten themselves.

Eddie Eviston didn't run a 4.5 at NewCath, I doubt that that many kids did this year. I hope that the Breds dominate the season. However 10 kids on a AA roster running 4.6s is not possible.

Beechwood

I haven't seen Beechwood yet...I hear they are big and have good speed. I am an old River Rat turned Cov Cath fan (wait…is that possible?) so I will always root against Beechwood. I think Beechwood will be 14-1.

 

Anyway, my son is a sophomore at Cov Cath and I have been to the last couple of practices. They look like they are starting to come together.

 

I know the offense looked bad against Ryle, but they have made a few adjustments to the offensive line and the offense looked much more crisp and confident today.

 

Also, they have a lot of speed on both sides of the ball. Depending on who starts at quarterback, the skill position players all run the 40 between 4.5 or 4.7; although, it has been reported that Buckley ran a 4.3. That is flat out flying. All the O-line has to do is make a crease and he will do the rest. He is strong and runs hard.

 

The defense is very quick to the ball and very aggressive. Even the smaller players hit hard and are not afraid to challenge the biggest running back.

 

While I will pull for the Colonels, I am not a homer, but I think people will be surprised by this team. They are a very confident, close-knit group of kids and they have responded well to the new coaching staff.

 

Even considering the extremely tough schedule they play, I wouldn't count them out. Only time will tell. Good luck to everyone……yes even the Tigers.

Come on Sticky, not having beaten CovCath all last year in any sport, (at least in Baseball, Basketball, and Football) the boy's from HHS will be out for blood.... :lol:

 

Now don't all you HHS fans get too mad, when the old broken down scoreboard at CovCath for whatever reason (electrical I am sure) can't post the correct score of your beloved Bluebirds during the game.......:lol: :lol: :lol: :thumb:
