I earlier would have said 7-3 with losses to Pikeville and Corbin, but early indications lead me to beleive Belfry will be a bit better than I thought.

I (sort of) agree with Bright Horizons that Bryan Station could surprise some folks and have a nice year in '07. I think they'll finish well north of 3 - 7.

Your prediction that the Dunbar Bulldogs will go 9-1 will probably be valid this time next year. You are one year premature......no way this year, in my opinion.

 

They have an excellent junior group of players.

 

A seasoned group of juniors who took the rough end of 9 out of 10 last year. This team may have a huge chip with some folks on their schedule.

HEARSAY, this is the first that I have read concerninig Eastern or Seneca Scrimmages. I will assume that you saw the JH/ Eastern scrimmage. Does Eastern have the talent to have a successful season? What are some strengths/weaknesses? I believe that they scrimmage Nelson Co. on 8/16 at Nelson. That would make Eastern a common opponent to guage JH and Nelson by. Has anyone seen Seneca?

 

I did not see the JH/Eastern scrimmage, but have heard several people who did see that Eastern was very talented, particularly offensively, and that they ran pretty well past JH, who was struggling to find consistency.

 

I DID get to see Eastern tonight versus Nelson County. They are big, very aggressive, and have some extremely good athletes on the offensive side. The QB is very tall, a southpaw, and is an excellent runner. They run a little option out of shotgun very effectively. The receivers can burn but don't hang on to the ball real well. Eastern will score some points this year.

Eddie Eviston didn't run a 4.5 at NewCath, I doubt that that many kids did this year. I hope that the Breds dominate the season. However 10 kids on a AA roster running 4.6s is not possible.

 

Maybe you should call Eddie and confirm. This junior and senior class will go down as the best ever at NCC. The posted 40 times dont mean squat but wait until the end of the year and everything has gelled. It will be scary. There will be a serious payback for the lack of respect this bunch has received. Its a shame the Bluebird series ended before this group arrived on the hill. :irked:

Will CovCath have a winning season? My guess is that CovCath will have a losing season, due to their schedule. I could see a losing season, not because they are bad, but because of the quality of the teams from top to bottom that they are playing this year....

Won't happen. Playing on Friday under the lights plays right into Beechwood's hands. Nobody in NKY likes playing that Sat afternoon game at CCH. It gets into everyone's head somehow. Beechwood gets back on the winning track this yr against the Colonels.

The beechies Don't beat NCC this year, sorry my friend.....that is not allowed to happen for a few more years. If I recall correctly Beechwood has not beat NCC in sometime....NCC has beaten themselves.

I agree that a 4.3 by a coaches watch means little. We've had this conversation on BGP before. Show me an electronic timed result on printed paper and then maybe I will buy it. But honestly it doesn't matter. 40 times and football speed are two different animals if you ask me. I trust that all these teams we are talking about are fast and skilled.

 

Now, with that said I will be at the NCC superbowl scrimmage tommorrow night and promise to report back how many world class sprinters I see.

I agree with the fact that the kids don't like it and it plays into Beechwoods hands but 3-7 in the regular season? That seems like a wierd CCH record.

I know for a fact that each skilled position players were clocked twice by the coaches. The fastest time was a 4.4 and 4.5 from a non starter who had a wrapped ankle. He does play special teams so maybe you will see. There were at least 3 other 4.5 times and a bunch of 4.6's. I do agree with you Proud Papa that is not world class speed considering Deion Sanders consisently ran 4.25. Sandman you will see soon enough.:flame:
