Might be getting off topic a little. Growing up, my parents had two "historic" newspapers that were situated just overhead as you went downstairs to the rec room. Presumably the most significant events in their lifetimes.

 

The first was VE Day. The second was "Nixon Resigns".

Pearl Jam has the right to say whatever they want just as AT&T has the right to censor anything they broadcast.

 

I agree. I just think it paints AT&T in a pretty sad light if they feel the need to bleep that. What's the worst that could happen? Hardcore liberals cheer and hardcore conservatives jeer. Way to go AT&T, you saved America.

 

Now as far as Pearl Jam goes: PLEASE, Eddie, just stick to the original lyrics. I am a big fan of them, and I don't like to see them changed, even when I may agree, somewhat. You may want G-Dub out of office, but singing about it is not really going to help. And telling me about it between songs is wasting valuable singing time.

The sad thing is that Pearl Jam had no trouble cashing the corporate checks, but don't like the fact that they are then not free from saying what they want on the corporations stage. The corporation is the censor here and not GWB. It doesn't really matter who is president at the time or what you think of the current president. The fact is GWB and the vast right wing conspiracy had nothing to do with this...

Actually, no. It is just that some matters are as obvious as is the fact that Tuesday follows Monday. Do you really doubt that they are mental lighweights or do you just want to disagree for the sake of disagreeing? Can I prove that they are lightweights? No. Thankfully, I know little about them. I thought Pearl Jam was one of the Hilton children. But, then, circumstantial evidence can be convincing.
