NKY Rankings : Pre-Season

Featured Replies

What makes Ryle and Boone more important than say, NewCath, CovCath, or Dixie? I mean, those teams have a chance to win their state championship.

Didn't say they weren't imporntant, just didn't pick them in the NKY poll.

Are they not in NKY? I don't understand how they don't matter inthe poll?

If you would have said these are the best five, fine, but not that the other teams don't matter.

I meant that it doesn't matter how you finish after fourth or fifth. If you break it into class instead of how they final rankings will be in N KY I would say

Beechwood - 1A

NCC - 2A

3A ????

4A?????

5A Highlands

6A Ryle.

HHS

Dixie

Beechwood

NCC

CCH

Ryle

Campbell

Boone

SK

Conner

So the 2A winner (2 time defending state champs) wouldn't even factor into any final NKY rankings?

Might not when you consider the number of wins that I feel Highlands, Ryle, Beechwood and Boone will put up. We'll see how it looks at the end of the year.

1. Highlands

2. Ryle

3. Beechwood

4. CovCath

5. NewCath

6. Dixie

7. Campbell Co.

8. Boone Co.

9. Conner

10. Holy Cross

Can't wait to re-post these at the end of the season. LOL

I think my rebels will be just fine... and the only questionable part about Farris is the stamina, he'll be ready. Don't forget about Bogle and company as well.

So do I, but we are talking "pre-season" not December. If you want to challenge my posts, please do so on that basis not on where you expect them to be.

So total wins is what we're going off of?  I guess NCC with what 5 losses last year wouldn't have been ranked either?

Just firing back.

Just firing back.

I have no problem with that, I just wanted to lay the ground rules for further salvos.:flame:

I don't for one minute think that my top ten will be the one chosen after the first game.:D

I was at the Dixie and Conner scrimmage and wasn't that impressed with either team..I watched Ryle and CovCath play on Sat. and liked what I saw from Ryle a little more than what I saw from CovCath..Went to the HHS and Beechwood scrimmage and was alot more impressed by these two teams....I would say that three thru seven are pretty even right now. It should be interesting in 6A this year in NKY.....

So you enjoyed a defensive struggle where both teams offensively where dismal over a game with long sustained scoring drives? Offensively Dixie was clicking in the second half in mid season form and I find it hard to believe that the good play of Conner didn't impress you.

CC doesn't have an O to match the D

I think you are wrong.. Campbell County, yes has a very good D maybe the best in NKY.. but there offense is also going to be good. They have a big offensive line, quarter back who throws the ball decent, RB who runs just as well or maybe even better that what his brother did last year, and about 5-6 wide recievers that could start on any team in NKY. In my opinion they are one of the top 5 teams.

Not when you have something else to compare it too....Like I said I think HHS and Beechwood look the best from what I have personally witnessed...:thumb:

I merely meant that they are untested to this point, not that they are not going to be good. This is just my opinion in the preseason, I have no doubt that CC will come around. They have an excellent coaching staff and a good talent pool.
