Trinity will be fine against Cinn. X. It should be a long and difficult day for the Rocks, but ditto for Cinn. X. Reading the BGP 6A pre-season analysis and some of the knowledgeable Rock posters on this board leads to the conclusion that T is loaded and deep. So is Cinn. X. Regarding the game, can anyone inform us of areas of strength they expect one team to excel in? For example, is one team appreciably faster? Better coached? Stronger O-line? etc. Finally, would anyone venture a final score?

I think that we actually might struggle running the ball right at Cincy X. We have to use some mis-direction with the run, and make sure to exploit the 'backside' in or passing game. Defensively our "middle" is the best we've had in years, from the guards to the LB'ing core, and through the middle secondary. I look for this game to be low scoring as ironic as they might sound, and a doozy. I look for something like:

I saw a Cinn. St.X game last year and I predict a long day for the Rocks.

 

Being the underdog is fine with us. Hopefully, Cincy X will write us off. Elder did just that not too long ago and most of their fans were gone at halftime. I am not predicting that will happen this year, but I will never believe that we don't have a chance to win against ANYONE.

You might have some knowledge of this question, does Cincy St. X have more than 4-5 rows of bleachers for their visitors? Do they have ample parking for the type of following Trinity might bring to this game? I'm not familiar with their complex or the surroundings. Any good eateries around their High School?

X will not write us off as they got a good taste of what we are all about in 04 only winning on the last drive of the game 24-17. We could have won that game by three field goals had we not gone for the TD everytime we were in the red zone.

Thanks for the correction. You are right to not overlook BG. They are talented and well coached. If the Rocks can ever swing it, I would recommend the

Rafferty's Bowl, played each year at Western Kentucky University. X played BG there twice. It is a classy group and the kids on the team get to play a game at a college stadium to start the year.

Yes we were 0-2 going into the 04 game and almost won so I don't think we have lost our perspective. Besides this is what pre-season hype is all about. We all know very well the game is won on the field not in the chat rooms. X has 2 very tuff opening games before us and may not even be #1.

It doesn't appear anyone has gone over board on the hype. I think the Rocks (and fans) have just has much respect in Cincy X as they will have in the Rocks. Hopefully the Rocks will be 2-0 when they take on the trip to OH.

The Rock supporters that have posted so far have, IMHO, contributed a sober analysis of the situation, not hype. Even so, sometimes fans tend to overrate our contributions. It is not us out sweating on the practice field, nor will it be us making the plays come 9-14.

The ball takes funny bounces in this sport. T and Cinn X could be undefeated or "ofer" or somewhere in between when they meet. Whatever, many of us anticipate a whale of a game.
