July 31, 200719 yr They will win 50 games next year, don't foget how weak the East is. I'm easy to find if they do in fact get to 50 -- I can eat my crow like a man. Thanks, I didn't know the East was weak, that changes everything. :walk:

July 31, 200719 yr Thus far Ainge has given away three 1st round picks this summer. This is a huge gamble. KG is good, but who's going to run the offense? He's certainly going for it now. Did I read that one of the picks was Minny's originally anyway and the other one is lottery protected? If so that's pretty good for the C's.

You're right...I don't know the details on the original Minnesota pick, but I'm pretty sure the other is lottery protected.
August 1, 200719 yr Top 3 protected in 2009, unprotected after I believe. It's feeling good to be a Celtics fan again! I hope they win #17!
August 1, 200719 yr Celts really gutted their team. Lets hope they stay healthy. If they stay healthy, I can see 50 games. That means a combined total of games missed at about 15 to me. Healthy Celts could mean a trip to the Finals, especially when Rondo has his breakout season this year...
August 1, 200719 yr Boston goes from 100-1 odds to win the title to 5-1 over night and are the fourth best in the NBA behind the Spurs, Mavricks, and Suns. I believe they are now the favorites to win the East at 5-2 (I think).

I believe they are now the favorites to win the East at 5-2 (I think). I think they have a much better chance to win the East than to win 50 games so those odds look reasonable. I think they'll come back to reality a little though win the newness wears off.

August 1, 200719 yr I don't know. You can almost be certain about what you'll get from Garnett. Pierce and Allen scare me and there is noooo depth behind them. They have $60 mil. tied down by three players, and I don't trust Ainge's ability to find good role players who can give quality minutes. IF the Top 3 stay healthy, Boston should be a beast in the east ( aaahh thank you), but if they don't, they are in deep doodoo.

Both Pierce and Allen have been pretty consistent throughout their careers as well, so you should know what to expect from them as well. I could see some concern that Allen may be susceptible to injury, but he's stayed pretty healthy in his career for the most part...as for Pierce, I don't see any reason to expect an injury. Other than last year, he's been a pretty consistent and dependable guy. I don't think Boston has enough to win a title as of now, but they're easily a strong contender to win the east.
August 3, 200719 yr I think the celtics can finally win it all with Garnett, Allen, and Pierce all there.
August 3, 200719 yr I think the celtics can finally win it all with Garnett, Allen, and Pierce all there. Three all-stars does not always equal a championship, but for these three it will just be a matter of when, not if. All the Celtics lack now is a center, because they have the perfect point guard for this team in Rondo, because he penetrates and passes, but does not take a lot of shots, which is great for a team with 3 STARS. They will have the 2 or 3 seed in the East this year, and then the next year I think that they will win the championship, because then they will have chemestry and will work together, much like Iverson and Carmelo, who I think the Nuggets will be a good team next year. All three stars are not that selfish, so I see that the Celtics will go from laughed at to respected in a matter of months, from the GM being the "worst" to being a "geneous".
