owsleyking
On one hand we have 23 sexual predators caught in the act. On the other hand we have tactics used to catch them which remind me of the same ones used by the Third Reich in Nazi germany. Just how much time would it have taken to get a Warrent? I don't know what sickens me the most, the fact that 23 perverts are going unprosecuted or that a law enforcement agency allowed the Fourth Amendment to be prostituted in the interest of monetary gain and notoriety. cshs81
I'm not a legal expert so I have to ask why the relationship between NBC and PJ matters to the DA? I haven't watched the show very much. What has to happen for these perverts to actually be arrested? How far do they have to go? Do all of the people that make the show get arrested? The guy from PJ seems like a real schmuck with no people skills.
STRIKE3
My personal feeling....Almost ANY method of getting child predators off the street, is okay with me. These offenders, are just consuming valuable oxygen from others. Bag 'em and tag 'em.

No matter how you catch them the main thing is that they are caught!
owsleyking
No matter how you catch them the main thing is that they are caught! But can they be prosecuted??? Again..if you are going to go to the trouble, get a warrent! Then there is no question!!!
cshs81
No matter how you catch them the main thing is that they are caught! 200+ years of this country's history would disagree with the above.
cshs81
At what point has a crime been committed? Certain spoken words?
Pat Dad
At what point has a crime been committed? Certain spoken words? I've wondered the same thing. It is just spoken words, but when they show up at the door, it's a whole different story. That's like if someone threatened a person while chatting on-line, I'm sure it happens. But, if they show up at this person's door, what may be his/her motives? The sooner these punks are off the street, the better.
UKPat02
A few thoughts... 1. Why have all the other cities that have taken part in the TCAP stings not had any problem with the way things went down? 2. What happens when one of these guys they released is caught molesting another child? 3. Why does it matter the monetary compensation between NBC and Perverted Justice? 4. All this talk has clouded the basics of these cases: grown men were coming inside private homes with the intent to have sex with underage children. At what point does this become ok just because of the money that was changed hands behind the scenes?
UKPat02
In addition, and this just may be me, but if you are actively trying to molesting a child (even going as far as to bring condoms and alcohol) there shouldn't be a warrant needed for that. These people are sick and IMO have forfeited their rights.
steelcurtain
I thought you were talking about this kind of predator. They are tough to catch.

These people are sick and IMO have forfeited their rights. I agree with you on all accounts. I know someone that was sexually molested years ago by their step=father...the prosecution of that man sent many people into a whirlwind of emotions that they never expected to go through. Having just said that, I would rather NBC, Perverted Justice or any other agency to do what they do to get these sick people off our streets and behind bars. Having gone through something like that was not pleasant in the least for the person I know, so by them doing what they're doing, it keeps one less family from having to go through an ordeal like what the person I know went through.
