Pete Mackanin

I also doubt that Mackanin will be the skipper next season. He has however put a breath of fresh air in this team and their attitudes appear different than under Narron.

Please get a big name.

Not sure if he'll be named permanent and interim removed. The players seem to be making plays defensively, giving effort and the lineup changes, are done with the intent to win.

Defensively, he makes moves late in the game. Pitching, is still a point from late innings to 8th, than is an obvious concern. When cameras pan through the dugout, a lot more smiles and communication, which is conducive of a loose clubhouse and winning.

Each team often gets on runs, like I've mentioned before and to me, a true test will be to see how he handles adversity, loosing streaks and injuries, regarding his managerial duties. I like the effort by all, so far.

Keep on keeping on, until then.

:thumb: I agree.

Any reasons why, other than you never heard of the guy before he was named skipper of the Reds?
I just know Castellini.

He could win every game left this season, but he will not be manager next season. Hopefully the short list is still Giraldi,Brenly and an outside shot at Torre or Tom Kelly.

Tom Kelly has said he is retired and won't manage again.

Ken Macha is my pick. I don't want any of the guys you listed. Not one.
Wayne K. loves the guy...Nothing would make him happier, than to remove the interim tag.

1. Wayne won't be here next year. He's lucky he's here this year.

2. I don't foresee Castellini keeping an interim manager. From everything I've heard of the guy, I just don't see it. He's a huge image guy, and I think he thinks keeping an interim guy will tarnish his image. I look for a 'name' manager here next year.

3. This happens every time an interim guy takes over. The team always seems to play better.

I agree and I have to say I love the way this team seems to have BIG attitude change under him. I like the guy but after Miley and Narron not working out I just don't think he will be named manager for next season, and probably shouldn't.

I would like Girardi or Brenly, but Macha would be a great hire as well.

Brenly has the track record, I still don't get the appeal of Girardi.

As I mentioned in the Track The Reds thread yesterday, Wayne Krivsky won't be back. Period.

Also as I've said previously, it is my BELIEF (I haven't been told this) that the Reds can go undefeated the rest of the the year and Petey Mack won't be back.

Sounds as though, ownership already has a new manager in mind and hopes to sign him.

Just good to see the Reds playing well right now.
