As I mentioned in the Track The Reds thread yesterday, Wayne Krivsky won't be back. Period.

Also as I've said previously, it is my BELIEF (I haven't been told this) that the Reds can go undefeated the rest of the the year and Petey Mack won't be back.

It is my belief, if the Reds go 70-0 the rest of the season, they will make the playoffs, and Mack will be Manager of the year.

Just sayin

The Manager of the Year last year got fired.....
Reasons? Is it because he's not a big name guy? Like I asked in another thread, can someone tell me what Sparky Anderson had done before getting the Reds job, or Jim Leyland before he got the Pirates job?

Good post...I was all for the "big name" guy to begin with, but look at it like this: Miley had no major league experience as a scout/manager/coach and both Bob Boone (who wasn't a interim) and Jerry Narron had never managed a big league team to a record of .500 or better. What made you think they would succeed in Cincinnati underfunded on the field?

Mackanin was a player/coach/scout in the big leagues and to me, that qualifies him over previous "interim to full time" manager choices the Reds have had recently.

Why? Because of Narron and the Kearns/Lopez deal?

Why? Because of Narron and the Kearns/Lopez deal?

Because the Castellini / Williams ownership group doesn't want him back. No, that deal wasn't a problem; Kearns and Lopez are both what many of us said at the time....VERY expendable. What is Kearns hitting this year, about .260 with 5 bombs? Oooooh.....

They didn't want him back this year.

They didn't want him back this year.

I don't disagree, but since I don't know that for a fact, I don't state it. I know for a fact that he won't be back, so that is what I state. :D

Since they are in charge, and they brought him back, saying they didn't want him back seems strange to me. ;)

As well he should have. Best pitching in the bigs, and his players couldn't stand him. See NFL, Tom Coughlin..Giants

Try again....

:thumb: I was thinking more along the lines of maybe Jocketty & LaRussa coming to the Reds because their ties wtih Castellini and his previous relationship with the Cardinals.

Again, I have no idea what'll happen as far as replacements, but I think the Jocketty move makes sense. I just can't imagine LaRussa coming here, but I'm not nearly as opposed to it as other posters on here seem to be. Heck, the unintentional comedy when Marty interviewed him before every game would be off the chart.
