Track the Reds: 2nd Half

I'm not sure it's that easy. I mean, if Valentin gets on and the pitcher bunts him over, you still need two hits to score him. E-5 at least scores on that hit. Not saying that's his thinking but it certainly is not 'easy'...

Plus it's likely he's thrown out at 2nd on even an average bunt...

Thats probably the only negative there would be.

It worked very well twice last week...

True dat...

So you guys are trying to justify it with just that.

Eddie has been hitting 8th for quite some time, why the uproar now? He's been working there so why upset the apple cart? I'd guess he hit there every game he played (maybe 7th when Jorgenson started) during the 6 game winning streak.

Heres why:

Batting 7th:

41 H 114 AB 2 HR 17 RBI .357 AVG

Batting 8th:

8 H 30 AB 1 HR 3 RBI .276 AVG

So you guys are trying to justify it with just that.

I don't need anything to justify it. I know that if someone is hitting well in a spot, you don't move them from that spot unless it's absolutely necessary. Now, if a couple more games go by and they're still struggling it may be necessary but I can tell you right now that players don't like to change when they're hot...

Looks at the numbers it looks like he is real hot in that 8th spot. :sssh:

Nice large sample you have there...

Is it that big of a deal that he hits a couple of games in the eight spot?

He got ahold of Lance's advance notes for tomorrow... :walk:

Thats from this year. It is a big deal when he is batting .400 has last 10 games. Man you guys really can never be wrong.

Just kind of seems like you're complaining to complain. You're nitpicking two spots in the lineup. It's not like he should be hitting 3rd and he's hitting 8th. He's AT BEST a 6 hitter and he's hitting 8th...big freakin deal...

We're talking baseball here, anything else and I'd dispute your findings...:D

Just saying I am not a big fan of that lineup.

The lineup or just one spot?
