Joe Morgan was a great player, HOF player but let's not get carried away, by including his name, to help the Reds franchise turn around.

July 2, 200719 yr Basically, he didn't think he had good enough players to win. I, for one, completely agree with him... So do I, I also however think that Narron did nothing to gain a teams respect. I don't believe that he demanded much and lost the respect of his team. I agree with letting him go but as other and I have repeated over and over, that will far from fix this team.

I really think he is at his best in managing in the t.v. booth telling everyone what their mistakes are and what he would do . He will remain undefeated and correct in all he says while there . I loved to watch Morgan play, he was great. Morgan is and should be in the HOF but I canot stand him as a commentator. I really do not think that he would be a good manager.

I loved that speech and Jimmy V.:thumb: Somehow I just have a hard time relating it to the shape the Reds are in . They put themselves in this condition.

Just a few more examples: Leo Durocher, Honus Wagner, Cy Young, Branch Rickey, Connie Mack, Don Kessinger, Mel Ott, Rogers Hornsby, Frankie Frisch, Joe Cronin, Ty Cobb, Bill Dickey, Charlie Comiskey, Hank Bauer, Buck Herzog, Fred Hutchison, George Sisler, Frank Robinson, Joe Torre. I think Joe Morgan has a nice ring to it also.

Looking at it now, resigning Ryan Franklin and Scott Schoenweiss would have made sense. Even before the season I wondered why they weren't though.
