Cory Farris from Boone Co High School has verbally accepted an offer from the University of Kentucky to play baseball. He will officially sign in the fall. UK has said they will use Cory as a catcher and outfielder.

Great news! I've been a big fan of this young man since his FROSH year (despite his INT against the Cougars that year).

 

I hope Coach Cohen doesn't leave and Corey gets to play under him. From all accounts, he's an outstanding coach and person.

 

Any old-timers want to guess as to the last player from the county of Boone that played catcher at UK?

I'm not familiar with Brian Johnson.

I thought about the name Brian Johnson after I posted, and I thought it was wrong, all I could think about was ACDC. I think I know the answer but it's escaped me.

The last catcher I recall from NKY to catch for UK was Greg Ryle from Conner in the mid-70s.
