June 28, 200719 yr Well most on here know how I feel about AI. I think he is a cancer and he is a "loser". Everywhere he has been him team has been losers. How the Nuggets were not awesome this year just amazed me. I wouldn't consider him a top 5 guard anymore. Maybe not even top 10. However he plays hard every game and I admire that. Come on now HT Philadelphia and Denver means that he's been everywhere?
June 28, 200719 yr Iverson may not be the player he once was, but he plays hard every night and actually cares about winning. He may not have the best track record but that doesn't discredit his ability to play. To be 6'0 and constantly drive to the hoop over 7'0 players and score, well that is something special. He isn't afraid to get hurt and it isn't really his fault that the Nuggets sucked last year and it wasn't his fault that the 76ers were bad either.
June 28, 200719 yr Steve Nash Kobe Bryant LeBron James Dewane Wade Tracy McGrady Gilbert Arenas Tony Parker Jason Kidd Allen Iverson Chauncy Billups This is the top 10 guards in the NBA for me. As you see, he is not ELITE anymore. I said in the first place that it was a bad trade for the Nuggets because I thought they had a good chemestry: A ball handler/passer, a good scorer, and complementry players. Melo and AI didn't work out, like I said. And he is a "loser". He does not won, he puts up stats and all that, but he does not really help the team win games. He wouldn't be in the top 15 now that I think about it if it came down to helping their team and winning. Melo and AI didn't work out because of Melo's gangsta punch against the Knicks that sat him out for 15 games. They didn't have time to build chemistry with each other because they only played about half of the season together. The Nuggets will be a playoff threat next season with AI, Melo, Nene, Camby, and the return of Kenyon Marton. He is far from a "loser." He plays with a ton of heart every game and the reason he took so many shots in Philly was because they had NOBODY else at all who could score on those teams.
June 28, 200719 yr He's definitely a HOFer and one of the top PGs of all-time. :thumb: How one could think he isn't at least a Top 10 guard in the NBA right now is beyond me. If I were creating an NBA player using pieces parts from other players, the dude would have Iverson's heart.
June 28, 200719 yr I had a arguement last night with one of my friends. He said that Allen Iverson is very terrible and overrated. I said he is top 5 guard in NBA. What does everyone think I don't know if he is top 5 or not, I would say definately top 10 or higher. I don't watch enough of the NBA to form an opinion. I do know that he is a very good guard/athlete and a perfect fit for most all of the NBA (National Bums Association). He is another NBA tatooed thug with No Respect for anyone or anything but himself , imo 80-90% of the NBA fit this description. Besides, are we talking about a game...................Or Practice, some are above that..............are we talking about................Practice. Man, Practice. (I don't care how good he is, AI is a Bum) JMO
June 28, 200719 yr HT, I think it is rich that you get so frustrated when people make illogical and biased statements about Kobe, but then in the next breath you do the same thing about Iverson. Funny.
June 28, 200719 yr I will agree with HT on this one...I would not want him on my team, and maybe not consider top 10 guard...
June 28, 200719 yr Melo and AI didn't work out because of Melo's gangsta punch against the Knicks that sat him out for 15 games. That was BEFORE AI really came, so you can throw this excuse out the window...
June 28, 200719 yr Steve Nash Kobe Bryant LeBron James Dewane Wade Tracy McGrady Gilbert Arenas Tony Parker Jason Kidd Allen Iverson Chauncy Billups . If you need a basket at the end of the game TONIGHT, how many of the above do you take over AI? Off the list would be LBJ, McGrady, JKidd. No doubt that AI's best days are behind him but remember that those BEST days were at a level that few players attain. His game today is still strong.

I know I would take Billups over all of those guys. I just feel like he is clutch.
June 28, 200719 yr He just seems like he can't and won't ever get over the hump to be a winner and I don't consider him a top 10 guard anymore.
June 28, 200719 yr Philly stunk before him and will stink after him...period... Although, Iverson/Kukoc was a very similar tandem to Kobe/Shaq...
June 28, 200719 yr HT, I think it is rich that you get so frustrated when people make illogical and biased statements about Kobe, but then in the next breath you do the same thing about Iverson. Funny. Not illogical at all. No doubt AI was a great player but his best days a behind him and I could see 10 people I would reather have RUN my team than him.
