June 25, 200719 yr Since I only have 2 months to go until I actually retire:banana: :banana: :banana: I plan on taking off the whole month of September and then I am going back to work 2-3 days a week. I plan on spending as much time with MrRk as I can. I also plan on helping out at my church as much as possible. I want to quilt, read books, listen to music that I haven't had time to listen to, and I would like to do a little travleing but will probably have to wait until MrRk retires to do much of that.
June 25, 200719 yr I have been retired now for 2 years.....well sorta. My plans were to sub some at the high school. Both years a teacher has left or became real sick and they ask me to finish out the semester, year. I do try to spend more time with my parents in Morgan Co. And yes...everyday is a Saturday...

June 25, 200719 yr I retired in 1998. I spend each day enjoying every moment with my wife and children. My wife is still employed so I am Mr. Mom at home. I cook, clean and do all I can to make her day less stressful. I also have a sick mother (bedfast with Alzhiemers) that my siblings and I help care for. We travel and enjoy many outdoor activities such as hunting,fishing,camping and going to sporting events at all levels. Retirement life is great.
June 25, 200719 yr Maybe I'll retire in the next few years. Watch my son play sports or coach a team, but my other goal is to go to Boyce Bible College and take some classes so I can learn more about the Bible and share it with others. Maybe start up a church too.

June 25, 200719 yr When I have a chance to retire, it won't be until I'm 75 years old, so my question is, will I even have enough energy to do anything? If I do have the energy, it will be used to clean the house and do laundry, something my spouse takes care of at the present. :walk: Then I will.....:sleep:
June 25, 200719 yr Nothing new for me. Travel the US via van or RV. I particularly like historic places and civil war battlefields. I also would like to take in baseball games and horse races at places I have not yet been to. When I'm not traveling I plan to volunteer and catch up on the reading I've been missing while raising my kids.
June 25, 200719 yr Some folks want to make changes before they actually retire while they're still relatively young and healthy. I see myself falling into that camp. I would expect that in the next 12 years or so that I will have changed professions in order to be able to some things that my current job prevents me from doing.

June 25, 200719 yr Why wait until you retire for the above? You know what, you are right...though I mean be like my parents are towards me NOW...... My dad retired a few years ago, and now makes more money owning his own company, and he literally works whenever he wants...actually in September my mother and father are going around the world. They will be gone a little over a month . . first class....this is the itinerary.. Tampa - Dublin - Paris - Madrid - Rome - Cairo - Bangkok - Tokyo - Sydney - Melbourne - Maui - Vegas - Tampa How cool huh?
