The death of an adversary with whom you have had heated posting confrontations for almost six (6) years affects you in strange ways. Although LSURock and I found common ground less than 5% of the time, there actually was some strange underlying respect developed between the two of us for our opposing positions. Admittedly we were both pot-stirers, and took joy in our confrontations. In a sincere non-schmultzy manner, I will greatly miss my most adversarial opponent, both on the field and on this BGP board. Death has a certain finality to it, which opens your eyes to those things which really matter in life. Sorry, LSU, if this does sound "maudlin", but my prayers are truly with you and yours in this sad event. God bless your Rock soul!

Watching the two of you go back and forth about the two headed empire of KY football helped shape this site.

 

In the end friend and foe (far and wide) respected LSURock. That's really all that matters...

I just logged on and saw this thread. I am in shock. LSU was one of my favorite persons to battle over sports with. I will trully miss him. May God bless his family.

I have to agree with this! He was very knowledgable when it came to whatever he had to input here on BGP and I will miss that greatly. RIP LSURock.

For someone I never met....I just can't stop thinking about this.

Truly a great great man....I know he polarized many on here....but he truly bled green and white, and love every young man that walked the halls at Trinity.....

There is just too big a gap between the boys at the top in 4A and the ones at the top in 3A.

If any of you knew him, with his big ole frame, and hat half cocked...than to say the above with a tremendous amount of hand movement...I can close my eyes, and see him saying the exact statement above...in his voice....I consider myself lucky...

Very sad. I heard about this from RP a few day ago, but this is the first chance I've had to post what a loss. I really, really respected him, and I'm glad I got to meet him once.

Well said Ox. LSU and I butted heads usually on one very specific topic. Now that I look back, I think how silly to argue about something so unimportant.

 

A story I wanted to share...In one of our pm exchanges LSU tried to retract his bold words because he realized that I was a female. I got mad at him and said don't ever back down from me just because I am female. I think I actually shocked him by making that statement..:lol: :lol: Needless to say he respected my request and continued to treat me the same. Looking back now it makes me respect him even more because he consistently stood up for what he believed in. To me...that is one of the best attributes a person can have. Rest in peace LSU. BGP won't be the same without you.

 

 

By the way, to all you St. X fans...I can guarantee you LSU has already met with "The Big Man" upstairs. In the meeting he presented God with a Trinity sweatshirt, t-shirt, blanket, hat, jacket, football (signed by Bob Beatty and Brian Brohm) and honorary diploma.
