June 8, 200719 yr When Thurman was arrested for the DUI that caused the one year suspension, he was specifically told by the bar owner where the police had set up a sobriety checkpoint. Thurman, who had been drinking enough to blow .18, actually got in his car with fellow Rhodes scholars Chris Henry and Reggie McNeal and drove right to the checkpoint - where he promptly got arrested. We're not talking about the sharpest knife in the drawer here. He'll be in trouble again.

What if his only time there was to pick up his brother and leave. We don't know either way, so why keep digging until we get more. If ANYTHING happened charges were going to be filed. Have Odell's agents , who have a vested interest in him, made any public statements saying that he was NOT there? IF you were his agent and your star client was charged and said client told you he wasn't even there (or in your world: just picking up his brother), would you NOT be telling every media outlet in the world that he was not on the premises?

If the complaintant(s) withdraw their complaint, a prosecutor rarely follows through with charges. While it is technically a crime against the state, a prosecutor generally won't file if the witnesses/victims aren't willing to follow through with their complaint. Just makes it too difficult to prosecute and they have better cases to pursue. Just a guess here, but I suspect the "victims" alleged attempt to extort money from Thurman weighed heavily on their decision to withdraw their complaint.

Pretty big risk on their part to make up the story completely. I wasn't there - none of us were - but if I were a betting man I'd say he was indeed there and there was indeed an altercation in which either Thurman or someone with him was involved. Gets mighty fuzzy from there, but it seems pretty clear the "victims" here weren't too credible. Then again, a fellow agent of mine has a saying: "Scum can be victims, too." :lol: Ultimately, it doesn't matter. It's over and one would pray that Thurman somehow keeps his nose clean long enough to get reinstated.
