TarterSalad's son had an accident a few weeks ago. I'm truly not sure if he was on a three wheeler or a 4 wheeler. He had an accident and was admitted into UK's childrens hospital. He had 2 fractured femurs and he had surgery Monday to place steel rods in both of his thights. He had plastic surgery today to cover up an open wound in his leg. There is some concern about his ligaments and tendons in his left leg. TarterSalad says that he will be in a wheelchair for 4-6 weeks. They feel sure he will have a complete recovery. So please say a prayer for TarterSalad's son and for TarterSalad himself. This has been a very difficult time for the whole family.

Prayers go out for you Tater and your family and a special prayer for your son "May God Place His Healing Hands Upon You and Grant the Doctors Knowledge and Skill to Bring you Back to Normal, Amen". Thank you for bringing this to our attention rebelk.

My youngest broke one femur when he was about 2 1/2. It was tough but he made it fine. He was in traction for 2 weeks and then a full body cast for 7 weeks. I can't imagine breaking both legs that way. They say it is the most painful bone to break because it is so large. Our prayers are with Tater and his family. I'm sure the young man will bounce back stronger that ever.

Thank you all for your prayers. My son is improving every day, but still has a way to go. He will be in a wheelchair for the next 4-6 weeks, but his pain is getting less everyday. We were in UK children's hospital for 1 week for his surgery to his femurs, and as RebelK said he had plastic surgery Wednesday to skin graft an open wound to his lower right leg. Most of the long term concerns are to his left ankle/foot. The ligamnets and tendons to his foot were severly damaged and the doctors are not sure if these will heal with time.

We were very fortunate that is was not worse and that there were no head or internal injuries. The accident was my son's fault totally. Riding his dirt bike on a back country road very fast, came around a curve on the wrong side of the road and hit a car head on. Just please any of you who have kids riding ATV's etc... keep the helmets on them.

If any of you Louisvillians know a little nurse at UK childrens hospital named Heather that works in 4E pediatrics, give her a hug from the Tater. She is truly an ANGEL!!!!
