WKYT news just said Danvile is trying to ban Karaoke. It's part of and alcohol ordinance they are passing. It also bans dancing and pool playing at any place that serves alcohol and food together.

 

That's kinda weird. I didn't realize karaoke was bad for you health, maybe your ears but banning it is a bit absurd. Oh well...

It was like trying to pull teeth to get alchohol into the town period. Now it seems like the bible belt protestors are trying to get it to be served with eating only. It is simply a way for them to try and insure that there is no bar atmosphere in the town.

I think the current plan is to outlaw the use of electricity in any establishment selling alcohol and/or caffeinated beverages. No electricity -- no microphones, no video -- no karaoke.

Nah, karaoke was invented in Japan and is hugely popular -- especially among office workers. Many get together nightly, after work to sing (often to American tunes) karaoke.
