I believe Smith has a chance. His size alone is NFL caliber. The all-star game he played in back in january(?), the announcers had nothing to talk about but Smith. The only thing holding him back is the adjustment to the speed level between NAIA and the NFL which is a common problem. His work ethic alone will give him a great chance to make the team.

Smith is nowhere near as fast as Eddie was. Eddie was more talented at the NAIA level, the difference is that Jeff has the NFL body and arm. Both are very smart and great leaders. I just don't want anyone confusing Smitty's speed with Eddie's. Eviston ran a legit 4.5.

My guess is he'll be the only qb in camp mistaken for a TE.

..didn't Jeff win the Georgetown weightlifting competion? (1st QB EVER)? If the Bengals give him a shot at TE, I am 100% sure he could preform at a high level there. He's that kind of athlete. And the Bengals TE's are woeful!

WKYT reported that Georgetown's TE Kyle Zaharias also signed today as a free agent. I do not remember the team.

How much did Jeff grow after high school? Wasn't he about 6'1"--6'2" coming out of NCC? How's his arm strength now? I hope so! Because I know I played against him for 2 years in high school, and I want to be able to say I played against a NFL QB and knocked down one of his passes...
