Holland named coach at Hazard

Featured Replies

Should make distric games and distric tournament just that much more exciting. Coach Al will be fine in Hazard and probally better off there than Perry now that he has the capability of a private school like Hazard.

I would also say that Hazard has gained some fans in the past couple weeks with this coaching change.

Wow, talk about adding fuel to the fire. One can only imagine what the games will be like when these two teams play this upcoming season.

Hazard is not a private school. They are a public Independent School system.

Independent or Private, pretty much the same thing right, still get other schools kids that don't belong and this coming year will not be any different if what I'm hearing is true. :)

All i can say as a true fan of sports ,i am glad we still have you in our region,he has to be one of the best we got in many years and its just good he stayed here in 14th,Congrats Coach Holland and you will win at Hazard as they have lots of talent and your one of the best coaches in our region, just sad that you didnt or couldnt finish up at PCC but hey no one blames you ,and i am sure of that,we are proud you took a stand and made the right move, again Congrats and hope you the best........ Go Bobcats......

It is not the same thing.

Hazard wins before the first whistle with the hire of Al Holland.

First of all, kids do not "belong" to any school district/system. Kids belong to the parents who birthed them. Believe it or not, in most circumstances, parents do know what situation is best for their children. One of these days the fine Commonwealth of Kentucky will stop playing politics with school funding and fund school children's education instead of funding dysfunctional school systems. JMO

Good quote. Wonder how paying aomeone $80000 or so to coach basketball for most of the time fits into that equation.

Excellent Point!!

How many Perry Central kids will switch to Hazard. Should be interesting to see..

How would they get eligible?

A good question.

I'm sure the PCC fans will end up missing him this year. This is one of the biggest coaching moves in the 14th region in years.

Welcome to the dawg house coach Holland!! Good luck on the upcoming season!!
