Miller looked terrible during try-outs.

seems to be a hard nosed player, the kind you need to face IN. and someone who wants to wear the KY. jersey. He will have to match up with bigger players from IN.

I know that Jordan Hammons from South Laurel tried out but did not make it. I am not sure who else, but know of him because he is from my area.

Actually, I'm a little surprised that Hammonds didn't make it. I was really impressed with him in the game against Clark County back in December.

I would have been surprised if Hammonds had made the team. The only real surprise to me is Troutman, who I've only seen once ... when he was a sophomore playing in the state tournament.

He's a nice player and his size+shooting ability plays well around central/eastern Kentucky, but he's not near the quality of player when competing with the quickness and athleticism of Louisville/Lexington/Covington, etc.

Just looking at the list the names that were left off that I thought could have ver well made it were Hamilton from Ballard, Jones from Bryan Station, and the center from Simon Kenton, although in an all star game going up and down it may not go over well with him.

The state was pretty solid this year. There were quite a few quality players around and unfortunately some can't make the team. I'd say Hammonds from South Laurel, along with those you mentioned above just happened to be seniors during the wrong year!

I would have thought that Hamilton, Hester, Basey (the guard from Jeffersontown) or even Davin Anderson may have had a shot over Troutman. Then again, Troutman obviously showed some things at the tryout that the selection committee liked.

That wouldn't be a huge shock. I think Hamilton was one of the state's more underappreciated players.

Congrats to these fine players. Playing in this prestigious event will mean more to them, twenty years down the road.
