Miller looked terrible during try-outs.

 

The kid from Trinity played really well, and he gives them some size and strength in the post.

I'm not saying he didn't look bad in tryouts, and I'll take your word for it because I wasn't there but he was one of the top players I saw this season, just judging by that.:thumb:

 

How did Jamie Case-Belfry, Jamie McCarty-Johnson Central, and Justin Hicks-Hazard look during tryouts??

 

I also thought Trotter from Cristian County would have had a good shot at making the team.

I would have had Miller as a "maybe" selection ... perhaps one of the last guys to make the cut.

seems to be a hard nosed player, the kind you need to face IN. and someone who wants to wear the KY. jersey. He will have to match up with bigger players from IN.

How big? Going to play anywhere in college?

I would have been surprised if Hammonds had made the team. The only real surprise to me is Troutman, who I've only seen once ... when he was a sophomore playing in the state tournament.

I second that about Hammonds. I feel like we would have been in some real trouble if Hammonds was one of the 13 best at the tryout. The kid can shoot and has basketball instincts, but just watching him this year he looked bigger and slower than in the past and wouldnt match up well with Indy's wings.

The point guard from Doss was by far the best pg at the tryouts. This is a shame he didn't make it. He had his way with every defender. This team is so rigged. Its all based on where your going to college at. Half the players on the team had horrible tryouts but because they're going to a big college, they make the team. Fraliex, Proffitt, Smith, Benock, even Walls and Beckham had bad tryouts but still their on the team. Good luck to the boys and I hope you guys beat Indiana. I just think there were alot of other kids deserving this achievement, than some. GO KENTUCKY

The number one goal of this game is to field a competitive team and put people in the seats. Joe College from 2A school going to Alice Lloyd doesn't pack seat like a kid going to Notre Dame, Louisville, Kentucky, etc.

 

And they have tryouts in name, but the tryout is all season and all career long. Pettigrew is an fantastic player; what if he had a bad tryout? Does he not make the team? Be realistic.

 

Is it rigged? Yes and no. There are some that will make it no matter what and that's the same thing for Indiana. But I would guess the second half of the roster is filled by the best players and the positions that are needed for the team. That's where the "competitive" part I mentioned earlier comes in.

Nice to see the 2 Holmes boys made it to rep the 9th.... congrats Rice and Hill... and to all the guys that made it...on a side note... I wonder if they will use Rice on the wing more instead of inside where he normally played....

 

 

This is actually huge for NKy, Holmes specifically. I hope Rice can play above the rim like he did in the state tourney because they don't have a lot of size.

I like the team.. big question is who is the point guard that makes the others better, handles the rock under pressure?

Proffitt and Walls are more than capable of running the team.

Pettigrew had an automatic spot because he won Mr. basketball, he didnt even have to show up. So it wouldnt matter what he did. I still think proffitt should have made it and the pg for doss should have. I was at both tryouts and he could possibly be the only kid to stop Gordon. He is gonna be to quick for proffitt or walls. The coaches did a bad job picking the pg spot. Every other spot seems to be pretty tough though.

So then why do they have a tryout. They basically tried out all year from what your saying. The team should get picked by who plays well at the tryout. Last i checked most of the kids at the tryouts were atleast top 50 in the state.
