Drank 22 glasses of lemonade in the 3rd grade to see if it would make me sick.
So that's what happened!

How many of you long-timers have gone back through this thread to see what all you "said" you had done?

I confess...I did. And I'm happy to report I've said nothing. :D

Just the injuries were all in the family. The sisters hurt too.

Tore my MCL/meniscus in my right knee

Tore my meniscus in my left knee (had surgery on this)

Hit by a car when I was 7 (surgery)

Had an appedectomy at 13

Broke my ankle on the kids play area at the Florence Mall

Scored the tying and winning run of a District Championship in the same inningWorked for the Florence Freedom Baseball Team

Drank with Dusty Baker after the Reds clinched the NL Central

Please explain how this can happen?

Courtesy runner for a pitcher or catcher, I'm assuming.

I had a bad car wreck in 97 and hit a telephone pole I was ejected out of the car I went through the passenger window and landed in the street I had about 100 stitches in my neck and head. I walked out of the hospital 6 hours later pretty sore.

UKMF is correct, partially. I entered the game as a courtesy runner for the pitcher with two outs in the 7th of a tie game (we were down 5 runs with two outs before we scored). First pitch was a wild pitch that I came in to score on. The batter who was at the plate when I scored then reached on error. I was placed back in the game as a pinch runner. Took second on a passed ball and then scored when our 2nd baseman lined a 3-0 fastball into right field.

Needless to say that the next day at practice coach pulled out his rule book and found that I shouldn't have been allowed to enter the game as a pinch runner in the same inning that I courtesy ran. But he did ask all 3 umpires at our game if I was allowed and they all said yes.

Some of the most random and weird ones:

Played on a campus champion intramural hoops team with a guy who went on to play in the NBA (Darnell Mee).

Had a coherent, engaging and entirely pleasant conversation once with Courtney Love.

At the former Caddy's, was caught up in a melee (started by my associates) in the sea of people celebrating the Reds' NLCS clinching win over the Pirates in 1990. Was forcibly ejected from the premises, for the first time.

Had a beer with Bushwick Bill of the Geto Boys.

Rode The Beast with B.J. Armstrong, who had just finished up his Iowa career and was getting set to report to the Chicago Bulls.

Went to an ICP concert, but managed to avoid the Faygo shower. Also at the now-defunct Caddy's.

Of the hundreds of concerts I've attended, the first one was Anne Murray. Second one was Quiet Riot with Randy Rhoads. Third one, and the first one I paid for, was Run DMC, Public Enemy, EPMD, JJ Fad and a very young Will Smith, then better known as one-half of DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince (his pre-Bel Air days).

To add to mine:

I have :

Met Tony Schlube (sp?, guy from Monk)

Been on top of Empire State building

been to ground zero

been in the newspaper

Met Donald Trump

Drove over 100mph

Had 6 ear drum replacement surgeries

To also add to mine:

Graduated from college

Bought a house

Gotta admit...I left out one encounter with a musician that I'm not so thrilled by - I played pool at Fat Cats in Clifton with John Mayer before he was the toolbag that he is nowadays. I've still got a burnt copy of the "original" takes of 8 of his tracks from his Room For Squares album to show for it...has his hand written title and track names on it and everything.

I had a job in college where the kid I replaced went off to California to pursue his acting career. I wonder what ever happened to George Clooney?
