April 24, 200719 yr [Larry jogs out to the mound to break up a players' conference] Larry: Excuse me, but what the going on out here? Crash Davis: Well, Nuke's scared because his eyelids are jammed and his old man's here. We need a live... is it a live rooster? [Jose nods] Crash Davis: . We need a live rooster to take the curse off Jose's glove and nobody seems to know what to get Millie or Jimmy for their wedding present. [to the players] Crash Davis: Is that about right? [the players nod] Crash Davis: We're dealing with a lot of stuff. Larry: Okay, well, uh... candlesticks always make a nice gift, and uh, maybe you could find out where she's registered and maybe a place-setting or maybe a silverware pattern. Okay, let's get two! Go get 'em.
April 24, 200719 yr Gladiator Commodus: How dare you turn your back to me? Slave! You will remove your helmet and tell me your name! Spaniard: My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius. Commander to the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife, and I will have my vengence...in the this life, or the next. Braveheart Amish: I should have remembered the rocks. William Wallace: Aye, you should've. I also love the quote from Dazed and Confused that Matthew McConnaghey gives to Cliff about what's under the hood of that hot rod. Something like this: Let me tell you what Melvinpost is packin', right here, alright We got a 750 double-pumper, bored over 30, elderbrock intake, 11-to-1 pop-up pistons, turbo-jet 390 horse-power....we're talkin' some muscle! I used to know it word for word, but its been a while since I was in college.

April 25, 200719 yr Don Corleone: I'm a superstitious man, and if some unlucky accident should befall Michael - if he is to be shot in the head by a police officer, or be found hung dead in a jail cell... or if he should be struck by a bolt of lightning - then I'm going to blame some of the people in this room; and then I do not forgive. But with said, I pledge - on the souls of my grandchildren - that I will not be the one to break the peace that we have made today.

April 25, 200719 yr This is Spinal Tap... Martin: So what happened to your all's old drummer anyway? Michael St. Hubbins: Yeah, he died in a bizarre gardening accident. The police said to just leave the case alone. I love that movie. Just watched it again this week. Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and... Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten? Nigel Tufnel: Exactly. Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder? Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where? Marty DiBergi: I don't know. Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do? Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven. Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder. Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder? Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven.
April 25, 200719 yr Another Spinal Tap gem: David St. Hubbins: I do not, for one, think that the problem was that the band was down. I think that the problem *may* have been, that there was a Stonehenge monument on the stage that was in danger of being *crushed* by a *dwarf*. Alright? That tended to understate the hugeness of the object. Ian Faith: I really think you're just making much too big a thing out of it. Derek Smalls: Making a big thing out of it would have been a good idea.
