A friend made this comment to me and I thought it would make for an interesting thread, have at it..........

The only UK player in history more overrated than Joe Crawford is Derick Hord.

I tend to agree. I remember reports that Derick Hord was going to be unstoppable and maybe the greatest UK player ever.

What a great topic. Nothing like trying to belittle someone. It is a shame that people want to get on websites like this and degrade individuals that give or are trying to give their best in athletics. I know that this is not the reason that Guru started this website.

I always thought Crawford has been solid for UK. He quietly gets 10 to 15 per game, and has hit some big shots during key stretches of games. I appreciate the effort he gives the Cats.

You have to think about who is starting this thread, if Tubby was still at UK, I would be shocked if this thread came up...

From the Catspause website, he averages 14.1 ppg, 2nd on the team only to Randolph Morris. 4 boards per game and nearly 2.5 assists per game. Just doesn't seem to be overrated. He keeps his mouth shut and plays ball. I wish him a great senior year and hopes he can make it to the next level.

By keeping his mouth shut, you mean is not a very good vocal leader!::laugh: Didnt he leave school for a while to? Doesnt seem like a great teamate to me, but o well.

No, I mean that he isn't out there backtalking the coach and crowing about his greatness at press conferences after the game or anything like that. Just observations I have made while watching him play in Rupp.

Yes he did leave school at one time, but with a coach like Tubby Smith, I can't blame the kid for being confused...besides, he could have easily went back to Detroit and stayed there. I thought he showed alot of character by working his way back into big blue land.

Antwain Barbour.

That's who came to mind when I saw this post. He did alright but was expected to do more, also another junior college player I thought that Rekalin Sims was going to be pretty good but I never really understood what happened there.

I realy think that Joe Crawford is not over rated. First off he averaged 14.0 points a game against one of the hardest schedules. The following is what he did against okay teams during the seasons:

UCLA-16 points and 5 assists( Lost in Finally Four the Seasons

Ole Miss- 23( saved us from losing as I recall)

South Carolina-23 ( played another key role in this game)

Georgia- 29( saved us from losing and played another key role in this game)

Tennessee-24( Very good team)

Alabama-17 points 8 Rebounds

I also think that under the new coach he will show you guys that he is one of the better players in the SEC next year. Tubby Offense was terrible and Joe will show everyone that he is not overrated.

Tell your friend that if thinks that Joe Crawford is overrated then 1. He isnt a good Wildcat fan because there have been worse player then Joe Crawford that i can think of 2. That next year he might be in the top 10 best players in the SEC.

Richard "Master Blaster" Madison. He was big time out of Tennessee, recruited in basketball, baseball and football. Never did turn into that impact player that all of the experts said he was going to be.
