Knowles has great potential. I will be honest with you. In the 5 or 6 times I have seen Knowles play I have never seen him play that well. Dont get me wrong, Ive seen where he has had great games, like against Mason Co, which is probably the best example. But 1 thing that has always been obvious in watching him is he has great potential!

So coach crum's take on an undeveloped, 6'2 jump shooter with awesome NCAA speed and ball handling is that when he learned to determine a good shot from a bad shot, would be a great shooter.

 

Coach crum is undeniably one of the greats, but I hope that he had more to say about knowles than that.

 

Why not preston as a Big East PG who has the ability to score if you leave him open, which is typically good shots; I just dont feel like there is a place for a 6'2 or 3 I dont know for sure which he is, with his type of game at the SG spot in D1 basketball.

Jerry Smith, who led the Big East in 3pt % as a freshman, is 6'1".

 

In the NBA, it might be a questionable height, but not in college.

 

A shooter doesn't need to be a SG, by the way. I trust Rick will put him in the best position to use all his talents. I just meant that this team needs more players that can knock down open shots with regularity, because we didn't have enough of that last season.

George Rogers Clark High standout Preston Knowles has made his college choice and will remain a Cardinal.

 

Knowles, who helped lead the Cardinals to their first state tournament appearance in 17 years last month, has verbally committed to Rick Pitino's squad and will sign with the University of Louisville on Wednesday.

He impressed me both times I saw him play this year.

I had the privilege of playing against Knowles in his early years at GRC. He was good then and you could tell that he had the opportunity to be a big time player in the future. Congrats to him. U of L got a good one.

Why aren't they doing the signing in the gym instead of the library and is Pitino coming. I think it would be great for the school to have an assembely and have him sign in the middle of the basketball court. That 's the biggest signing GRC has had in decades.
