I don't think Preston is tall enough to be a true 2G in the Big East. He mentioned he may "redshirt" his frosh year.

 

I completely agree with that. I say redshirt and then as a soph make RP send sosa to the 2 spot.

The finalists for tonight's dunk contest will be Stewart, Jamelle Horne, Nolan Smith and Michael Beasley.

 

Stewart recorded the only perfect score in last night's preliminaries. He received 10s from all three judges on his final attempt when he bounced the ball and threw down a reverse jam.

 

"I just made it up in my head," he said. "I got it like that."

 

Knowles 'wore down'

The finalists for tonight's three-point contest are Beasley, Horne, Tyler Reed and Kentucky's Mr. Basketball, Steffphon Pettigrew of Elizabethtown.

 

Knowles didn't qualify after scoring 10 in the preliminaries. The Clark County star was disappointed.

 

"Oh, man, mentally and physically I just wore down," he said. "I had to get up at 4 in the morning. All the activities kind of wore down my knees, but (tonight) I think I'll be at full strength."

I heard that part of the reason they signed Preston was that he totally whipped Sosa the day he played with UL's players.

 

While Sosa plays great defense, I can see this being true, as I think Knowles is MUCH quicker than Sosa...

I heard same great comments by Knowles on the news tonight from after the game. He said he knew that Pitino was a legendary coach and that he would require discipline and obedience. He said that Coach P would be great for him in the long run and would be the best choice for him to get him to level that he wants to be able to play at.
