Scott Co. guys are invoved everywhere no wonder they are a state powerhouse.

It dosen't hurt, Scott County had guys last season that could have been stars on any other team bing 7th and 8th men off the bench ther if that is any indication of how good that team was.

WAIT ONE MINUTE!! Rodney Haddix should have been a senior at Scott Co this year. How is this possible? No way!! If an AAU program takes this kid then, they need to check there program and why it is exactly being ran.

NCAA rule state that as long as a kid has not committed to a school or signed, they are eligible to play. A team who has a senior who has not committed or signed could be trying to help the kid get more expose.

 

Tourneys such as AAU wouldn't allow them to play, but others do, as the NCAA sees no problem with it.

Perfectly said....plus the AAU does have a senior National Tournament at the end of July which is a NCAA certified event.

Poor Haddix. He was ruled inelgible for his senior year, for the Ky/Indiana Allstar game and now people are trying to get him ruled ineligible to play AAU. The poor kid can't catch a break.

Team Kentucky will be playing in the Kings Island Memorial Day weekend tourney in Cincinnati.

Yes I know. My post was from a couple weeks ago before he had signed with Miami(Ohio). As I understand it now he is no longer eligible for AAU.

 

I was really impressed with Derek Smith East team when I saw them. They do not have any stars, but a bunch of solid players that will be playing in Kentucky next season.

Haddix was never eligible to play any sanctioned AAU tournaments this spring or summer because he was a senior this year.

Sanctioned aau tournaments is not where the top teams are going to get scholarships. You play in the state aau for bragging rights, but in July you are going to certified events where the coaches can come and see you and unsigned seniors are eligible to play because its about getting scholarships, not playing for a trophy. AAU is primarily for younger age groups is what I'm seeing.

I think you're right. And a great opportunity at the certified events is for a player who may not have been listed as a marquee player to get noticed by a college coach who may have come to scout someone else.
