April 8, 200719 yr Author I could see this guy Bolting to NBA very fast! Care to elaborate? It's killing me the way people lately have just made blanket statements with no explanations. How about we try to do that?
April 8, 200719 yr Care to elaborate? It's killing me the way people lately have just made blanket statements with no explanations. How about we try to do that? Well he is young and he Loves the game of Basketball. He also loves to coach the game of basketball! If he gets fast success at UK The NBA will come calling. The NBA is the Highest Level of Basketball, and Gillisipie said himself that the more Presure that he has the more He likes it!So In my opinion I feel he is the kind of Basketball Junkie that is going to try and prove that He is the best Basketball coach at all Levels. Care to elaborate why you feel That? He doesnt strike me as the kind of guy to be an NBA coach, so I think college coaching is where he will stay regardless of his success!
April 8, 200719 yr Good point--if you are gonna "role the dice" per se--why not Ford or Pelphrey? I agree
April 9, 200719 yr I could see this guy Bolting to NBA very fast! You may be right you never know. BUT a guy who has made a name for himself largely due to recruiting should be careful going somewhere where recruiting isn't needed. We'll see............................... Gosh we are debating a guy going to the NBA who's been a head coach 5 years and has yet to coach a game at UK. AHHH it's great being a UK fan. LOL
April 9, 200719 yr I'd say to blindly think there are no questions surrounding him is a pretty bold statement.
April 9, 200719 yr If in 5 years he bolts for the NBA I will be very happy for him and us. Because that means we will probably have won at least 1 National Championship in the next 5 years. Here's an idea. Why don't we let the man coach a game or 2 before we ship him off to the NBA or replace him with Pelphrey or Ford. Also, I wish Newton would crawl under a rock and be quiet.

Some UK fans may finally get over Pitino if Gillispie gives them a National Title.I just don't think most of them could handle getting dumped again the way Ricky P. did them!
April 9, 200719 yr Didn't C.M. Newton hire Hal Mume and his band of bums?? Imo Newton has no business commenting on anything.
April 9, 200719 yr Gillispie hasn't coached his 1st game at U.K. yet and people are talking "when is he going to jump to the NBA ? " Does this remind anyone of what they said about Pitino every year he was at U.K.? :scared:
April 9, 200719 yr Didn't C.M. Newton hire Hal Mume and his band of bums?? Imo Newton has no business commenting on anything. :thumb: I was thinking the same thing. He got us the "Probation Gang" in football and Tubby. Let's all shut up and listen to Ol' C.M. speak from his beachfront property he was rewarded with after all this.............
April 9, 200719 yr CM might need to look at his own record with USA Basketball and the Mumme regime before he starts criticizing anyone else.
